Chapter Text
According to the car's GPS, Kara was in an area that at first surprised her as not being infested with zets, as it was a celebrity condominium block, which had been one of the first places to receive government protection and one of the first to succumbing to the zets due to high demand from infected fans invading as a last wish to see their idols.
- Winn listening? - Kara called after putting her communications back on.
- Positive and operational Supergirl, what can I do for you today? - Winn replied jokingly. Winn was one of the first people Kara and Alex rescued. He is white, short, with spiky brown hair, intelligent and has a great understanding of anything involving technology from any year or century. Winn worked in a government development department when the apocalypse began, and he invented most of the devices that field teams use.
- Do you know who set up my equipment today? I'm going to a house that's further away than normal, which doesn't give me a good feeling and I'd like to be prepared - replied Karra, after managing to park the car, as the streets were full of cars parked anyway, some even overturned and several abandoned motorcycles, probably out of gas. “If Alex were here, she would definitely find a way to take one of those bikes” Kara thought. Houses in these types of neighborhoods are far from each other, but this house is even further away, almost as if it were isolated from everything.
- When your sixth sense attacks it is never good, let me see who prepared your equipment today - Winn said when looking for him - Kara, it was Kelly. Do you want me to send you to her?
- Please and thank you Winn. Depending on what I find in this next house, I might be able to get back before the day is over- Kara replied
- Okay, but please be careful this time. We don't want a repeat of last time. - Winn said. The last time Kara had a sixth sense like this, she ended up having to climb a rusty grate to escape some zets, and ended up cutting herself. It wasn't a serious cut, but she had to get a tetanus shot.
- Don't worry Winn, this area of houses has no evil fences to attack me – Kara joked as he passed it to Kelly.
- Kelly speaking - Kelly replied. Kelly Olsen or Kelly Olsen Danvers now, is an African American, tall, slender, with black hair and brown eyes. Super kind, sweet and caring like her brother Jimmy. She, along with Lucy, is one of those responsible for the arsenal, a type of room that stores most of the HQ's weapons. Kelly stays there with Lucy Vasquez and her daughter Esme, monitoring the amount of ammunition and the condition of the weapons before and after they return. Kelly is married to Kara's sister, Alex, and together they adopted a beautiful little girl named Esme. Kelly was a psychologist specializing in childhood trauma, and when the apocalypse began, she was working with Esme. Esme was an orphan, coming from a home where she was taught that love was painful, and Kelly was trying to show her that it wasn't. Kelly had already become attached to Esme when the apocalypse broke out, so she didn't take her back. They were locked in her office until Kara and Alex rescued them. When Alex saw Kelly and Esme it was love at first sight, and after a while and a lot of work with Esme, they got married and adopted Esme. Kelly, Esme and Winn are Kara's proteges, meaning if you mess with any of them, your body will never be found.
- Hi Kelly. What did you put in my equipment today? - Kara asked while looking around, finding it strange not to see any zet.
- Hi Kelly. What did you put in my equipment today? - Kara asked while looking around, finding it strange not to see any zet. I have placed your basic and secondary equipment. His area hadn't left yet, so I asked the team leaders and the Omega team leader said his area was a quiet area today. So, you have the two .45 with two extra magazines in the car that you can put in the pocket of your tactical pants, the 2 G22 with 4 extra magazines for put in your vest, the retractable sword that is on your waist, the bow and retractable arrows that are in the leg bag, and the .22 with 10 bullets in the pocket in your pants and in your shirt sleeve you have the hunting knife and a knife in the vest. And of course his special tactical glasses. - Kelly listed, but at the end Kara was almost exploding.
- What do you mean that my area hadn't left? Mine came out with everyone else's. And why did you go to ask the leader of the Omegas? You know what he thinks of me and the way he acts. I'm in a mansion block and the next house activated my sixth sense. Please tell me you put anything else in the car. - Kara said. If she was already angry with Ben before now she wanted him dead.
- I tried to talk to the other leaders but none of them responded to me. I swear Kara when I looked at her mission area it hadn't left yet. If I had known that you, and indeed you, were going to this area today I would have posted more. In the car, you have 5 handguns, 3 extra magazines for the .45, 3 extra magazines for the G22, 10 normal arrows, 5 explosive arrows, and 10 bullets for the .22 - Kelly said, feeling cheated. She trusted the worst of people and now Kara may be the one who pays the price.
- Ok Kelly, I'm going to look at the house with my glasses and see what I'm going to face. Let's hope there aren't too many zets or there aren't any survivors in the house - Kara said, putting on her glasses and looking at the house. When Kara saw the house, her hatred for Ben and a little for Kelly increased. The house showed nothing more than 60 zets and 3 people trapped upstairs. Special tactical glasses were one of Winn's first inventions. He could see through walls and showed through heat whether there were people or zets in the places. When you look at a person with it you can see the heat wave that they emit in a yellow tone, as for zets they emit a blue wave. These glasses can tell whether the person has been infected or not, as their heat wave gradually loses its yellow glow and turns blue. Seeing the number of zets there were in the house and how many survived, Kara already knew the fate of Ben and Kelly too, although she wasn't really to blame for that, were set.
- Kelly, unfortunately you and Ben will be volunteering at our next tactical training session. There are 60 zets in the house and 3 people. Now tell me, how am I going to rescue these people with this amount of zets? - Kara asked sharply.
