Chapter Text
Yuu was covered in ink, it was almost ridiculous. Drawings running up his arms, his neck, and down his legs. Even his face wasn’t unmarked. A design dancing around his eyes. Luckily, the only people who could see him were the people in training with him, who knew what the drawings were. That didn’t mean that they weren’t teasing him about it. “Oh, shut up, the tattoos will fade from human and vampire eyes when I’m finished. You won’t be able to see them. I only have one left to do.”
“Why haven’t you done it yet then, are you still adjusting from the eyes one?” Kimizuki questioned.
“The last one’s memory and there are some things I’m going to remember that will be hard to handle. Stuff from my time before the orphanage, and when they were experimenting on us. Besides, because it’s the last one, I’ll be knocked out for a bit. I figured you wouldn’t want to deal with that. I’ll do it when I get home tonight. I’ll recover quickly enough then and you won’t have to deal with it. We still have plenty of training to do.” Yuu replied.
“You could do with a break, you’ve worked yourself hard all day.” Shinoa scolded. “We’ll watch over you, while still training. It won’t be a bother. You should finish if you can. Any extra time being a full pledged Seraph you can get is important.”
I’m going to do the memory drawing and complete the transformation. I don’t know how I’ll handle the memories. Can you help me through it, Mika? Yuu broudcasted his thoughts to his old friend.
Of course I’ll help you through it. I’ll be there in your dreams. I’m not expected to do anything today. Mika replied quickly.
I’m scared. Yuu whispered through his mind as he went to sit down and pull out his pen again.
You can get through this. It’s okay to be hurt. You need this, Yuu. I’ll be there to help you the way you used to be there for me. Mika said.
Yuu opened the pen and put it to an empty spot still on his hand. The drawing for memory was a simple symbol to draw. It was not meant to be big, just something for convenience. It did not take him long to draw it.
He dropped the pen and let out a scream. Yelping and gripping his head again. Then he went limp and passed out.
Mika was hugging him close to his chest. “It’s okay. you’re safe. You’re safe. It’s over. It’s over, we’re safe and we’re together. Please stop screaming. It’s okay.” Mika pleaded.
Yuu stopped screaming and started sobbing instead. It was so horrible. His childhood, his parents, everything he had forgotten. He remembered Samandriel visiting him. He remembered vaguely of Heaven. He remembered the Divine. He remembered Mikaela. Michael. He remembered loving him.
“I forgot so much,” Yuu said between sobs.
“It’s okay. Everything is going to be okay.” Mika promised, nurturing his mate as best as he could. Crying he could handle, but he didn’t know how to help him when he had been screaming.
It took him a while but eventually Yuu stopped crying. When he did, Mika was all he seemed to care about. Holding Mika close, touching Mika, kissing Mika. His love for Mika had grown with the new memories and with the new obvious mating desire he had not felt as a human. Mika was perfectly fine with this extra display of affection and responded in kind. He loved this side of his friend, this rarely-seen side of vulnerability.
