Work Text:
When two people from different friend groups start to date, it's kind of an obligation for their friends to at least tolerate each other. Because you love your friend and said friend loves that annoying bastard and well… You have to keep your manners when they and their group are around. Being respectful is the least you can do.
Yoongi and Seokjin have started to date in their last year. It wasn't a surprise for anyone but them, really, everyone already knew that the scary music major has had a huge (and in this case mutual) crush on the handsome acting major. What they didn't know was when Yoongi spent time with Seokjin he became more smiley and everyone that was afraid of him before (including Jungkook) realised that Yoongi was just a soft man who wanted to show his love to his friends. Not that they didn't notice it already, it was just that dating made Yoongi less afraid of showing affection in public. It was probably because Seokjin liked to take him everywhere by holding hands and liked to give him a goodbye peck in front of everyone now and then.
So they were being grossly in love, as this wasn't enough he became impossible to find in campus. When it was just the four of them, as in Jungkook, Jimin, Namjoon and Yoongi, hanging out Yoongi would either be with them or be with this guy from his class (Hoseok he called) or he would just wander around the campus "because he was trying to be healthy after all those years", in his words. Later they found out he was just wandering around the acting building to see if Seokjin was out of his classes. That's how they met actually, but it's a quite long story and maybe for some other time, really.
Either way finding him was easy when they weren't dating. After the Doomsday, as in, May 2nd, the day they started dating, he was impossible to locate. He would get out of classes and Seokjin would be there waiting for him and they would just say "Hey guys!" and walk to the some other part of the campus. Jungkook never found out what they were doing, but he guessed it was couple stuff. Not interesting.
And it became the three of them after that. The truth was Jungkook was exaggerating when he told this to Namjoon that day, he knew Yoongi knew how to make time for them everyday and be there for them when they were feeling down and he sent the regulated "I love you" message to Jungkook to see him smile every Wednesday. But he wanted to be a spoiled brat in that minute and Namjoon smiled and said that he was being a little too dramatic as usual. He said this with manner, of course. Namjoon always knew his way around the words.
So Jungkook was already a little prejudiced against Seokjin because that guy made his favourite hyung (Don't tell this to Jimin.) be absent from their usual spot under the trees near the campus. He wasn't keen on seeing them kiss or anything, the thought itself felt like seeing his parents kissing so he didn't ask Seokjin and Yoongi to come sit with them on any occasions.
But one afternoon, this thought occurred to Yoongi. When they were sitting by the lake (Yes, their campus had a lake.) he asked Seokjin that if he would like hanging out with his friends. To his surprise, Seokjin was in mood for that too. So they quickly got up and went to find the other three. They were at their usual spot, with Jimin on his phone messaging someone looking very happy, Namjoon scribbling something to his notebook and Jungkook being bored out of his mind.
See, Jungkook called Seokjin an annoying bastard in the beginning and he was sure he would call him that for the rest of their lives. In his head at least. But the truth was Jungkook became fond of Seokjin as quick as his hyung and it was entirely Yoongi's fault for not introducing them sooner. Jungkook had only heard rumors about him being on top of his classes and getting offers from several companies to debut as an idol back in his high school days. He didn't know how good his voice was but when he mentioned this to Yoongi after two months, it made Yoongi smile and say "Very." So this guy was almost talented at everything and had a killer personality on top of it? No wonder Yoongi was head in heels over for him.
Seokjin was a pretty remarkable guy too. He made two jokes when they first got introduced and made the atmosphere a lot easy for Jungkook, to say. Jimin and Namjoon had already met him because Jimin knew everyone on this campus (and when you hear that you must understand the Whole student body.) and Namjoon was a Social Studies major meaning he once got The Homework, the one that made him talk to almost everyone on their dorm. Surprisingly they were on the same flat and it made things easier for Yoongi when they first started dating. So it was downright bizarre for Jungkook to not know his hyung's boyfriend whom — apparently — everyone knew.
They spent the next hour making jokes and telling embarrassing stories about Yoongi. Seokjin was thrilled to find out the boy was actually crushing on him the moment he first saw him and Jungkook was astonished to learn Yoongi mentioned about their friend group a lot. This whole section made Yoongi pout a lot so Seokjin slowly changed the subject and started to ask about their lives. Surprising enough, he and Namjoon sharing the dorm was enough for them to talk about how failure of college students was and the laughter was there again. Jimin liked the story about how Yoongi tried to sneak into their dorm at an ungodly hour and got caught by the security. Seokjin in his pyjamas, Namjoon waking up from a deep sleep and them trying to explain how he wasn't there to kill everyone on their dorm earned a very loud and long laugh from Jimin.
Watching them Jungkook realised that Yoongi and Seokjin were perfect for each other. Because when Yoongi got uncomfortable he went silent and Seokjin noticed this like no one in their friend group noticed. Jungkook didn't know then because Seokjin only showed them his strong side until the second year but when Seokjin started questioning himself Yoongi knew this and he was always there to make him remember his self-worth. They were a extremely good match and everything was balanced when it came to them.
So meeting Seokjin established some things in Jungkook's head. His hyung were happy and Seokjin were someone he would like to spend more time and get to know better. He got less annoyed at how he was absent from time to time and spending time with Namjoon's pining ass for Jimin got less annoying. The man was trying to make his shot for so long but Jimin, saying he was very good at dating stuff, didn't even have a clue and he didn't quite understand why Namjoon went silent everytime he mentioned this dating stuff.
It was all fine and dandy for Jungkook. Their group was kind of extended but one person wasn't that much of a difference anyway. That was until Yoongi and Seokjin thought of a brilliant idea.
They were at a café, eating pizza and doing their couple stuff as usual when Seokjin said that his friends wanted to meet Yoongi's friends. Yoongi, by that time, had already met Taehyung and Hoseok, Seokjin's friends. He knew Hoseok already, and he got very excited to find out the art major was from the same hometown as him. He was fond of Taehyung because the boy was so talented for his own age and he got galleries reserved for him at the second year. Taehyung got his respect quickly, and Yoongi was a really good friend for Taehyung too.
So this idea didn't seem that off to Yoongi. Mixing their friend groups would've made things easier for both of them, they would find all their friends in one place and their friends would meet a couple of new people too. Needless to say, it was a russian roulette, they didn't know whether their friends would get along or whether they would find each other annoying. But the risk was too low for them to not take because the benefits of making them meet was actually a really reasonable deal.
And just like that, the plan was set. They would have a dinner at Yoongi's place on a Friday. Jungkook wasn't excited to meet new people; he wasn't very good at it and Seokjin being the sociable part made things easy for them when they met. He didn't know how he befriended Jimin and Namjoon too. It just kind of happened, in his own words.
Jungkook was the first one to arrive and help the couple set the table and everything. Hoseok, that one producer friend of Yoongi, arrived after him and Jungkook was relieved to find out he was a ball of sunshine. The guy was apparently a respected underground rapper and a smiley dork on the campus. After meeting him, Jimin and Namjoon rang their door and was welcomed inside. Apparently Jimin knew Hoseok and was close dance buddies with him, to no one's surprise. Well for Namjoon, they were exes. But according to both of them it only lasted one month on freshman year when they didn't know anyone else but each other. However, this didn't make them drift apart, it just drove them into different friend groups with different people. Later Jungkook recalled seeing Namjoon say hi to Hoseok before Yoongi and Seokjin started dating and it all made sense to him.
Still, this didn't make him feel any better because everyone knew everyone, apparently. They just didn't hang out or preferred to hang out one on one. So when Taehyung arrived, a little late than the usual, he was rather irritated and bad-tempered.
Well, what to say? When you see someone for the first time, there are two things that could happen: you could fall in love with them or like, want to woo them, or you could feel the immediate dislike creeping around your neck. For Jungkook, it was the second one.
He didn't know what caused this really. Taehyung was immediately loved by everyone around the table except Jungkook, Jimin finding a person he didn't meet before, Namjoon meeting a person who was as interested in art as him, everyone who hadn't already meet him was already quite fond of him.
"Jungkook likes to play Overwatch too." Hearing his own name, he tilted his head to see what was the matter. He was thinking of something else for the last hour because the meal wasn't that interesting except Seokjin's story about how Yoongi got him a gift. Taehyung was always talking and had a vibrant personality, and that didn't bother Jungkook when Hoseok was like that but it irritated him to hell when the said guy was talking.
"Oh, well, he didn't talk to me much this night, but I knew we had something in common," Taehyung said with a doubt in his voice. For Taehyung, this new kid was supposed to be an annoying brat, not a silent teenager. To his surprise, he interacted with everyone but him. When he opened his mouth to say something to him, Jungkook was losing all his senses and was being immune to all his attempts to start a friendship.
"I don't think we do, no," Jungkook said immediately. Since there wasn't a reason for him to dislike Taehyung, he was just being rude until the guy catches the hint and leaves him alone.
"I think Taehyung can beat you in a game, Jungkook."
Jimin always knew what to say to make things heat up.
"I doubt he can. I really doubt it."
"You think I'm not that good? How about a round, emo boy?"
Trying to process what he just said, he got up and opened up the game.
"Emo boy, whatever you say, will beat your ass."
"Now they're talking!"
So the game began. The game wasn't supposed to be this competitive, they were just chilling and Taehyung just dared Jungkook to play. But when it came to Jungkook, it became that competitive. Soon everyone stopped filtering and Jungkook saw how filthy mouths all his hyungs had.
Jungkook couldn't help himself but shout "I fucking won!" to Taehyung's face when the game ended and hopefully erased the smug look on his face. Seeing him still look the same, he turned around to others, then him again and asked, "Why are you still so happy with yourself?"
"I let you win."
There are several things he could tolerate but this, that phrase wasn't one of them. Hearing that after a game he won with his own blood, sweat and tears was like a slap in his face. He was being dramatic but sue him if he was wrong.
"No fucking shit."
"It's true, I let you win. Look at the score, if I were to make my last move I would've won but I didn't because while you weren't listening to us talking others told me how competitive you can get."
"We weren't lying, though." added Yoongi while he was refreshing everyone's drinks.
"It doesn't matter-"
"Yeah, it doesn't matter because you won the game and my heart, emo boy," Taehyung said. He could probably see how flustrated and confused Jungkook got and he was probably enjoying all the "Ooooh!"s from the guys and how his face looked completely dumbfounded.
"You are infuriating, Taehyung." He wasn't happy that he won, this guy was a teaser and he was hot and he was so annoying and Jungkook just wanted to punch him.
"It's hyung to you." Taehyung was clearly enjoying this whole conversation.
"No, it isn't? Do you think I call Jimin hyung?" Dragging Jimin to this conversation wasn't a good idea knowing the guy had said "Punch him in the face, Taehyung!" to his rival whom he just met and apparently felt connected just to see him annoyed.
"Not calling me hyung doesn't me you shouldn't have in the first place. It's not my fault you don't know your manners." Jimin said, and the whole thing seemed a little bit too silent and too serious and Seokjin felt the need to make the tension go away.
"Well, who wants some beer?"
The night continued like it started a bit weird, a bit awful, a bit sloppy but it was their first meeting one of many of others and to Jungkook's luck, they were going to stick together for a long time.
They met up as seven from time to time, in campus, in the cafeteria, on the seaside but the tension between Jungkook and Taehyung didn't go away. He was so sure the feeling he felt against Taehyung was pure disgust, the guy knew how to get on his nerves just by breathing and they couldn't stand near each other without bickering the whole time. Taehyung had nothing against him though, he was just playing along and making him frustrated.
One time, as they were staying at Hoseok's house, Namjoon caught them sleeping side by side on the couch. He thought when they didn't talk and yell at each other they looked pretty peaceful and let himself enjoy the silence for a moment. Later that morning, Jungkook woke up to see himself hugging Taehyung and Taehyung looking down at him and saying, "Think we should be able to talk and flirt before we get to the third base, emo boy." and everyone in this house woke up to Jungkook yelling "I hate you, I swear to god I hate you." from the top of his lungs.
For Taehyung, it seemed like Jungkook didn't have a name. Calling him emo boy the first time they met stuck with him and Jungkook couldn't help but think that he should've made a counter-attack. He thought of names to call at appropriate times, like artist boy (which would be a compliment) or prick hyung (he wouldn't call him hyung in a thousand years.). When he said this to Namjoon while they were sitting at their usual spot, Namjoon said maybe he was thinking about Taehyung too much for them to be rivals and maybe he deep down had a crush on him. This was the most absurd thing Jungkook heard in his life, so he laughed for five minutes and then he explained how much he disliked Taehyung. That speech included him saying "I hate his stupid perfect face and ugly beautiful eyebrows and his annoyingly shiny tanned skin and his dream boy manners and how everyone likes him." Namjoon thought of saying what was on his mind but decided against it because Jungkook had to see how much he was wrong by saying there was no feelings involved other than hate and disgust and terror. So he suggested, "Why don't you call him dream boy? You said he is perfect and that you hate that about him, use this."
"I didn't say he was perfect, I said he acts perfect as if I can't see behind all his acts." was the only thing Jungkook said in return but later while they were arguing Namjoon caught Jungkook say "Well your opinion is rotten, dream boy." Taehyung seemed like he wanted to say something but he played along as usual. Jungkook wasn't there yet.
Jungkook had to admit Taehyung was sometimes funny. When they weren't bickering with each other and dying from university work they were all about making other's lives hell. They pulled some pranks on Hoseok which earned them nothing at first and a really angry two minutes after their prank made his work turn to garbage. He could be really angry when he wanted, so they moved onto Seokjin. He wasn't a good choice either because he was barely at dorm. Working on his finishing project made him dead serious and to be honest dangerous to mess with. Also, he had some ideas and pulled some pranks on them too so they best decided each other was the best decision for pranks.
They handled each other well and working together on pranks at some point made them loosen up. They were what you could call friends and everyone had a deep breath.
That was until Taehyung started dating.
It was worse than when they first met. Jungkook was unable to talk to. He just made snicker comments when he saw Taehyung and the poor boy. The group meeting were uncomfortable for both sides, and his boyfriend just didn't want to be with Taehyung's friends. The whole thing made Taehyung so angry at Jungkook and when he and his boyfriend broke up, they didn't go back to how they were. They went back to their arguing, just this time they actually meant to hurt each other.
The situation occurred around this time. Their town had a new ferris wheel, bigger than they've ever seen. Jimin thought visiting that ferris wheel would be a good Saturday night activity, since they had nowhere else to be. He first opened this idea to Jungkook, to his surprise he was on board with this. The two of them were basically together all the time, being the ones from the same town and same major and seeing them agree on something from the first minute was so rare so everyone agreed to the idea, real quick.
What they didn't know at that moment was Jimin had a plan.
See, everyone was sick of the conflict between Jungkook and Taehyung. Those dumbasses couldn't solve their problem on our own, and some things just wouldn't be spoken in front of everyone. They needed to sort their shit out in private, doing whatever they had to do and just talk to each other. But whenever they tried to leave them alone, they refused to talk and basically left the room.
They should've been in a place where they couldn't leave even if they wanted to.
Saturday came and the group was at the amusement park like some sort of high school juniors and it was good to be young in that moment. Jungkook thought they would be getting on adrenaline rides like rockets or horror rides like horror tunnel, shit you went on with friends for laughs. When Jimin said they were here for the ferris wheel, he didn't try to hide his disappointment.
“Ferris wheels are boring. What are we gonna do, confess our love to each other at top?”
“Just because you’re not romantic, doesn’t mean everyone has to have zero emotions asshole.”
“Taehyung-” Hoseok tried to intervene. It was like this all the time and seeing them bicker stopped being funny after the first week.
“Am I emotionless? You are the last person to talk.”
Seeing both of them were in quite the shape the boys started to wander off. Yoongi and Seokjin were laughing at something Hoseok was showing at them, Jimin and Namjoon were so-not-flirting while they were standing in the line of the carousel. Realising they are left alone while everyone was dealing with their own business they both stopped talking and joined the first group. Both of them knew going near Jimin and Namjoon would let them become the third wheel and neither of them wanted to wait for the carousel.
Their night began just like that. Taehyung and Jungkook were avoiding each other like they were the plague but both of them had to spend the night with Hoseok to his luck. Hoseok loved spending time with them, no, he adored the young ones but being the compass with them was a hard job to do. When Jimin called Hoseok and said "It's time." he was a lot ready to let them go and get stuck in a cabin and see how that solves their problems for them.
Hoseok led Taehyung and Jungkook in front of the ferris wheel with the "I want to get popcorn." excuse and left them with Jimin there. Jimin had the move here, he said "You guys get in the cabin, I'm gonna help Hobi hyung and come." you know, like a liar.
They grumbled a bit but it was obvious they were going with the same ride because the ferris wheel cabins were for eight people. So when both of them got seated down at the opposite sides of the cabin, no one suspected a thing.
Until the cabin started to move.
Jungkook was the first one to notice and he thought no bad motive behind this. The man controlling the ferris wheel was basically making a mistake because not everyone was in the cabin, right?
"Hey, controller guy! You need to stop the engine we have more people coming."
Controller guy didn't hear him or pretended he didn't. The truth was Jimin paid the guy a bit to keep them inside and he so hoped he would hear the end of this.
"Can't you hear him? You need to stop the engine!" Taehyung shouted while the cabin was slowly moving from the ground. They were basically at two human heights now, but it wasn't like the ferris wheel was about to stop for them.
Then they heard Jimin.
"You have two hours, assholes. Solve your problem."
The last part of Jimin's sentence was lost between the wind that got to them because they were almost halfway to the top.
"What does he mean?" Taehyung asked even though he did know exactly what he meant. He didn't think about both of them leaving him and Jungkook because despite bickering they were almost like glued from their hips.
"I don't fucking know!"
"Well, why don't you relax and stop yelling at me we're at the top now."
"You planned this."
That was the most absurd thing Taehyung heard all day.
"Me? Me? I am going to plan to get stuck with you on a cabin like you aren't an insufferable bastard?"
"You want the things between us solved out!"
"Well, don't you?!"
Jungkook knew he was wrong. He knew how they weren't the ones behind this and how both of them would eat their arm before talking like normal adults.
"You're an asshole." Jungkook knew he wasn't the one to talk.
Taehyung sighed. "Here we go again…"
"Oh my god, what do you mean?!"
"I'm just saying if we talk like people once maybe they can let us get on the ground before two hours so you don't spend the rest of your night with me stuck here."
They were shouting and screaming and they didn't even notice how they stopped before the cabin swayed a little.
"Great. Now we're stuck for real."
"I can't believe you."
"Why are you always saying things that don't mean anything? Say it with your whole chest, coward."
Jungkook knew he was pushing his limits. He knew about every mistake he did in their relationship from start to finish yet that didn't stop him from making more.
"You know what? I know you're provoking me right now and no, don't say a word, I know I'm better than to play your game but I'm sick of this Jungkook. I'm sick of pretending I hate you."
"What do you mean pretending? You obviously hate me otherwise you wouldn't treat me like you did in the past month. You've always treated me like garbage."
"That's the biggest lie I've heard you say."
The cabin started moving again. Jungkook was staying silent, and Taehyung didn't feel like being persuasive. He started to believe the kid actually disliked him, maybe all this time Jungkook didn't think this was a little game they had and actually hated him from the beginning.
They came to the ground and made a whole circle. Jimin and Hoseok were nowhere to be seen as expected but none of them were looking for that. Being seated on opposite sides they were looking from different windows. Taehyung thought this would've been a really peaceful ride if it wasn't for the tension.
Jungkook broke the silence.
"Okay, please say what you're gonna say I don't wanna be in this thing for one second more. I'm getting nauseous." He messed his hair and straightened it again, and Taehyung let his guard down for one minute. But his sadness could be seen inside his eyes if Jungkook only knew how to see.
"I don't know, man, I'm just so tired of always fighting. First, it was fun, sure, but I don't even know why we started and why you acted like I wasn't there, like I was some kind of fucking nuisance in the room. I didn't like that, not from you but it was what it was.
He knew they weren't going anywhere with all the blaming but both of them were aware it was Jungkook who made this feud.
"I always felt like you have something bitter to say to me and when we became like friends, I don't know that was the happiness I've ever been but when you…"
"Yeah, go ahead and blame your break up on me. I'm sorry I wasn't a big fan of your relationship."
"I didn't even say a word."
"You were going to!"
"You always think the worst of me. You clearly didn't like him, that's no mystery. I just don't understand why my break up made the things worst between us, I just wanted to get back to how we used to be before that. I never hated you but even seeing me made your mood drop."
"Because you're the Kim Fucking Taehyung who's the genius, who's loved by everyone, who's talented at anything and everything even things that isn't his area of expertise and everyone adored you."
"Yet you've hated me. Everyone loving me meant nothing when you were there just being disgusted at me."
"Who am I to hate, your highness?"
"Stop being sarcastic for one goddamn second."
Jungkook had a lot to say. He had a long monologue coming up, there were things he was holding inside himself for so long even though he quite didn't understand what they meant because all of his feelings were like in a mixer when it was about Taehyung, always changing, always confusing.
"You're a different person, okay? You're built like a Greek god yet you wear the stupidest things ever and they look good on you. Witchcraft. You say you aren't that much but everyone in this school knows how fucking talented you are and how you're the best person ever. I hate this. Like what do you want us to do?"
"You don't mean it."
"Oh, yes, I do. And you flirt with everyone, including me and then you go out with the blandest person I've ever met. You didn't even like him. He didn't like you too. You were just going out for I don't know what and… You're so annoying and you think I hate you, I don't hate you, I just-"
Taehyung was getting sick of it. Jungkook was screaming, he was screaming and they were back at the top of the ferris wheel.
"Then what? Why do you act like I'm the dirt you walk on and why do you, for God's sake, act like you hate me?!"
"Because I'm in love with you!"
Taehyung was ready for everything. He was ready for just because; he was ready for I actually hate you, he was even ready for you're going to die in 6 months and I hate you for that. Whatever that means. He was clearly not ready for what Jungkook had to say.
Jungkook didn't seem like he was taking it good either. His eyes were screaming he was about to cry, and he looked like a mess. He looked like a little kid who doesn't believe what he just said and is just so confused with his own being.
"Bullshit."
That wasn't the best response to a love confession.
Jungkook was crying now and Taehyung felt like he chose the wrong option in a video game. He couldn't believe Jungkook would say something like that, the boy who hated him with his whole being, being in love with him just didn't make no sense.
Taehyung sat next to Jungkook. He tried to make him look at himself but Jungkook was curling up and not responding to anything.
"Jungkook, please look at me. Please, for me."
Nothing. Just muffled up crying.
"I don't believe this is going to happen this way. Please look at me. What- What did you say?"
"Please don't say you love me."
"Why, why can't I?"
He was still talking while his face was buried down.
"Because you don't mean it."
"I mean everything I say. I meant when I said it didn't matter everyone other than you loved me because I wanted you to love me. I wanted you to notice me, and I wanted you to treat me differently than everyone else but you just didn't respond. And I played along. I wanted you to laugh at me like you did with everyone but you were so angry, I don't know. And I thought, yeah, he hates me so what's the use? And I dated him, yes, because I thought, maybe the only progress we could have was being friends. I felt like I should get over you, you would only treat me like something we can call friends."
Jungkook raised his head up. He looked so small and so weak, and Taehyung hated seeing him like that. He didn't know if he could call it love, he was sure they couldn't classify what Jungkook felt as love too. It wasn't all simple for them, not from the start.
"When it comes to you, I don't know what I should do, Taehyung. I don't know if I can call it love, it's mixed with so many other feelings. You just make everything completed and when it comes to you, logic just steps out of my head."
Taehyung was holding Jungkook's face now. He laughed a little and made their foreheads touch. He saw this in a movie once but he didn't think about he would actually live one.
"Remember the lake trip?"
"Yeah… The one I almost got drowned." Jungkook chuckled. His crying was slowed down and he was looking kinda puffy from all the mess.
"I didn't know why I jumped in. I know me jumping in helped no one and made more mess for Namjoon but I just… I couldn't bear the thought of you seeing you struggle and our last conversation was being about how much I hate you. When it wasn't like that, at all."
"We had lots of talks about that topic after that thought."
"Yeah but you weren't drowning when those were happening."
Jungkook wiped his face with sweater paw.
"Remember July 20?"
"You need to give me more details."
"The one where I fought with the girl you were kissing and made us get thrown out of the party."
"I do remember, yes. Never quite figured out why you would hate someone solely because they were kissing me but it rather explains now."
"Shut up." He lightly hit Taehyung who was giggling, thinking his little joke was the funniest thing ever. "I didn't know the motive. I just knew I didn't want to see you kissing them when you could kiss someone else."
"Someone like you."
Taehyung could feel Jungkook tense up, so he added. "You don't- We don't have to. That was hard to unpack, and I would respect if you wanted to-"
"No. Just-"
"Can I? I've kinda been waiting for this since the very first moment I saw you."
"Thought you'd never ask."
The kiss wasn't like one of those movie kisses. Jungkook didn't feel like he would explode or there weren't fireworks or anything. He felt like he was melting from inside though, and he thought, yeah, maybe this was what heaven felt like. It wasn't the greatest kiss but it was the beginning of so many and even that, was enough for him.
Jimin and Namjoon were in front of the ferris wheel when the two hours was about to come to an end. Spending those hours wasn't as difficult as they thought it would be, they spent the first hour with Hoseok and the second hour with everyone else. Namjoon was kinda down because after hoping he would finally tell Jimin how he felt for him, he just ended up seeing his favourite couple's (aka Yoongi and Seokjin's) cuddles.
So when Taehyung and Jungkook exited the cabin looking like messes, both of them got confused about what went down. They didn't seem like they had a fight, they would know about it because the cabin would be wobbling. They didn't look like that was the case, their clothes just disorganized.
Jungkook looked back to see where Taehyung was and while looking at Jimin's and Namjoon's questioning eyes held Taehyung' hand.
"Wait… So you two are…"
Luckily for them, Jimin was a quickwitted person.
"You're kidding."
They were having a lot of fun.
"You assholes!"
Jimin came at them not-so-lightly punching. He was muttering along how they had to thank him and how if all these happened earlier it could save them from a lot of trouble. Namjoon had to come and get him on top of them, and he was kinda smiling at this the whole time. Jungkook were crying and laughing at the same time and Taehyung was getting kicked while he was trying to hug him.
Yoongi, Seokjin and Hoseok joined them at that moment. Surprisingly, none of them were as surprised as Taehyung hoped they be but Hoseok joined Jimin in kicking them and telling "Then why did you make me suffer, fools?!"
After everything was set, they got on the ferris wheel once again but as seven. The controlling guy was sick of them but Jimin got all the tickets for tonight's rides basically, so he had nothing to be sad for.
Jungkook and Namjoon were walking from the behind on the way to home. He said he had something to ask Namjoon to Taehyung and though this made the older boy sulk a little it also gave him a time to mess with Seokjin. At that moment, Seokjin was giving Taehyung a piggyback ride while Yoongi and Hoseok were laughing at their faces. Jimin was looking at them from the very back, his hands in his pockets, enjoying the sunset.
"So, hyung."
"Yeah, Jungkook?"
"Remember how I ranted at you about Taehyung?"
"Yeah, I do."
"Did you… Did you know back then? Was it obvious?"
"It was. But it wasn't my place and you all figured out very well."
After saying that Namjoon quickened his steps to reach Jimin. Seeing him come, Jimin's face lightened up. Jungkook learnt one thing that day, and he knew something was obvious too. But it wasn't his place, Jimin wasn't there yet and it was another story to tell.
