Clark yelped in surprise when his window opened and Gotham’s very own Batman climbed in. “Uhm, can I help you..?” he asked the Dark Knight standing in his bedroom, acutely aware of the Batman pyjamas he was wearing - thanks, Lois - but the Batman didn’t seem to notice.

“Are you alright, Clark?” the Dark Knight asked in a voice full of concern and that clearly belonged to Bruce Wayne.
Clark nodded slowly, and for the first time allowed himself a peak at what he already knew. It was Bruce under that mask. He huffed.
“I can’t believe I didn’t realize it was you all along,” he told Batman.
Bruce shrugged. “I’m good like that. I’m Batman, after all.”
Clark tilted his head. “Do your kids know?” he asked.
There was a short moment of silence.
Then all four Batkids threw their arms in the air. “Jesus fucking Christ, I give up!”
