Chapter Text
Klaus was stating quietly in his seat. He had a good drink. A reasonable book and had managed to convince Elijah to start a fire in the fireplace in front of him when he couldn’t be bothered to himself. All in all, he was in for a good afternoon, he thought.
Except that every now and then you would stomp through the room, huffing and puffing about something. In the morning it had been something about werewolves stealing a shipment which had some of your presents in it. Then someone had eaten all of the hot packets of chocolate mixes. Then your wrapping paper had been taken by Rebekah who wanted to colour coordinate her wrapping. When you’d come back from buying more at the Quarter you’d started complaining about how cold it was.
In all honesty, it was more entertaining than his book. Except that you had started to look stressed. He watched carefully as you passed by again and let out a deep sigh.
“(Y/N)?” He called out. You heard the snap of his book shutting and the clicking of ice in his glass as he finished his drink. It must have been his fifth or sixth drink by now.
“Yes?” You asked. Klaus looked you up and down before smiling. You were tired. He could see it on your face.
"Come and join me by the fire." He said and gave you a devilish smile.
“I can’t I have too much to do.” You explained. Klaus shrugged and went to open his book again.
“If you insist love. But really you should try this. Elijah found it recently. It’s rather good.” Klaus shook his drink and grinned when he saw you caving. Sitting with him near the fire with a drink sounded more than tempting. You sighed and then fixed yourself a drink before sitting next to him. “Relax. I’m sure we can sort whatever disaster has struck later. For now, just enjoy being alone with me.” He smiled as he leaned in, his arm snaking around the back of the love seat as you sank low into the seat.
