CHAPTER V
the soft touch of a feather
Breathless gasps escaped Harry's mouth, right behind them they had lost Professor Lupin or his wolf-turned version and Ron, and Sirius Black, who turned out to be his godfather and wasn't really trying to kill him, but was trying to clear his name because -, "The rat!"
"What?" Hermione gasped next to her.
"The rat, Pettigrew, got away!" Harry exclaimed, "We have to get him back."
"Wait, Harry-"
"Mione, we have to catch him. For Sirius ..." Harry looked at her.
The brunette sighed and reached through her clothes, "Got it," and pulled out a shiny watch that Harry had never seen before.
"I don't understand, what is ...?", He asked.
The girl smiled, "I'll show you."
And then everything seemed to revolve around him, the Moon high in the sky retracing its steps and hiding behind the clouds once more.
"Where are we?" Harry asked.
"A little before Lupin transformed," she replied calmly.
"Er, what ?!"
Hermione silenced him, "We have to go back, take the rat and run away."
Harry was momentarily distracted as he thought he saw a flash of blonde hair.
"Come on! The other version of us can't see us."
"Excuse me, the other version of what-"
"I'll explain it to you on the way." Hermione grabs his hand and they start to walk away quickly when they hear footsteps approaching.
"Ugh, this place is so gross."
"Pansy, you said that about twenty times in the last five minutes--"
Harry looked at Hermione, still trying to process what he had heard.
"So ... A twisted-time?"
Hermione rolled her eyes, "Time-Turner, Harry, and be quiet."
The brunette nodded slowly and watched with his friend. It was weird, seeing everything from this new perspective, seeing himself ...
And then he had a chill.
"Dementors!" Someone exclaimed.
"Harry!", Both Hermiones exclaimed.
And Harry thought he saw black feathers floating around him.
And then "Expectrum Patronus!"
A white deer came out of his wand, intimidating the Dementors.
"Shit, the rat!", Hermione exclaimed from somewhere.
And then, from the sky so dark that it was blurred in his vision, a bird came down with something in its claws.
Harry narrowed his eyes.
It was a raven, with black feathers and eyes of an abysmal gray.
And its had Pettigrew in a cage, who was squirming and screaming in sheer panic.
Harry smiled.
He grabbed the jar that had rolled on the floor.
And when the raven let go of its charge and flew off to the moon, Harry had Peter Pettigrew trapped.
