Chapter Text
Toni hung her arms on the bars as she waited for the person that paid her bail. She had an idea but a name wasn't given. She woke up one morning and said that it had been paid. She heard footsteps, more specifically, she heard heels. Who else would wear heels in this town besides...
"Cheryl Blossom," she spoke smugly. "You are a sight for sore eyes."
She didn't look happy. She strolled up to the bars that Toni seemed to be so calmly rested at. "What did you do this time?"
The cop had pulled out his keys and unlocked the cell.
"I'll tell you in the car."
The door swung open and the officer stepped aside. "Let's hope we don't see you again, Ms. Topaz."
Toni stepped out and began her walk toward the the front desk. "I'm betting that you will."
"Checking out items for Toni Topaz."
The woman behind the desk gave her a disappointed look as she turned around and went into one of the rooms.
"It's weird that you know how to do all of this."
"Not my first time, sweetheart," she smiled mischievously at the redhead as the woman emerged from the room with a large paper bag.
"Here you go. Have a nice day."
"Thank you, madame," Toni teased her and the woman rolled her eyes.
Cheryl and Toni had just opened the doors when Toni stood and spread her arms.
"What are you doing?" Cheryl asked, exhausted.
"I'm free!"
"You were in jail for one night," Cheryl grabbed her wrist and pulled her toward the red convertible. "Let's go."
"I like when you hold my hand."
Cheryl, for probably the hundredth time since she had gotten the call that Toni was locked up, rolled her eyes into the back of her skull. Nonetheless, she unlocked the doors to the car and stuck with her original agenda, to take Toni home.
Toni went onto the driver's side and opened the door for Cheryl, gesturing in the car, she said, "Malady."
She laughed, "You are in a world of trouble. Get in the car."
Toni did as she was told and sat comfortably in the passenger seat. She put her feet on the dash. Cheryl smacked them off.
"I swear, you are such a fucking animal!"
"Aww," Toni pouted, "I think someone missed their fuck buddy."
Cheryl was about to shout but held it back and took a deep breath. She pointed a menacing finger at Toni, "You are on a thin line."
Toni grinned and leaned forward. She placed her hand possessively on Cheryl's inner thigh. The redhead completely dropped her bitchy facade from earlier and became putty in Toni's hands. "How thin is that line, Cherry?"
Cheryl was speechless. She had no idea what to say.
"Seems like I'm okay in your book," she said and sat back in her seat. "Take me home."
Cheryl turned the key in the ignition. "So what did they get you in for anyway?"
"Trespassing. I went on the old train tracks over the bridge that separate the North and South," she glanced at Cheryl to see if she knew what she was talking about. The redhead nodded, "well I jumped onto the lower part where the arches are and I started taking pictures. Since it's a hot spot for all of the risky teens, cops go there pretty often and they found little ole me smoking a blunt."
"They didn't charge you for drugs?"
"No, the cop was nice. Said he'd just take me in for trespassing. He's arrested me a few times and he knows I'm a good kid, just a little rebellious like most teenagers."
"Surprising. Most teenagers aren't in a gang."
Toni shot Cheryl a smile, "We all know the Serpents is more of a community for kids whose families gave up on them."
Cheryl nodded. They were silent for a moment due to the fact that Toni very rarely brings up her family. Cheryl knows she had a homophobic uncle and two parents that passed away, from what... Cheryl didn't know. Anyone else in her family had never been mentioned.
"You wanna see the pictures?"
"Sure."
Toni reached in the backseat for the paper bag and pulled her camera out. She booted it up and went into the photo library. Cheryl stopped at a red light and glanced over.
There was one that was centered around Sweetwater River with trees from the North and South being separated by the reflective water. There was a slight lens flare from the sun but it made it look so much more real. There was another showing the graffiti of the arches dating from back who knows when. It was all creative art, nothing provocative or alarming, just hippie-esque. Cheryl hummed in approval and then the light changed.
"Those are good, Toni."
"Thanks! I was gonna get them developed. Most of the others I took are pretty much the same." She stayed silent as she looked over her own work in her seat. "I should take you there sometime."
"And get caught again? No, thank you." Cheryl laughed.
"We won't get caught. Besides, you make me look good and no cop would wanna fuck with me if he saw you."
"What makes you so sure?"
"You have money. You basically own this town," she put her camera away, "plus, you're gorgeous as hell which I'm sure you knew anyway."
Cheryl blushed and rolled her eyes once again. They passed the Whyte Wyrm as she pulled into Sunnyside to drop Toni off. She pulled up in front of a trailer, Toni's uncle's trailer, but he was out of town for a few weeks.
"Thanks, babe," she took her paper bag and opened the door.
"We had a rule about you saying that."
"You just picked me up from jail, Cher, I don't think I follow rules all too well," she winked. "Thanks for bailing me out."
"This better be the last time."
They both knew it wasn't so Toni smiled and patted the top of the car. "Later, fuck buddy."
Toni went into the trailer and Cheryl pulled out of Sunnyside feeling something a little more than just Toni's friend with benefits.
