Chapter Text
Just like Laura predicted the alpha of the local alpha invited them to their house that weekend. Laura made them all dress nicely. She even took them shopping for new clothes, obviously wanting to pimp her pack so good that the other pack will be impressed. It was kind of ridiculous, but no one said it out loud.
The night of them visiting the pack, Phillips, about an hour before leaving, Laura gathers them all in her living room. She stands in front of her pack, Jordan at her side as always. Stiles thinks she looks gorgeous in a black sleek mini dress, shoulders and back uncovered. She’s also wearing red heels that make Stiles wonder how in the hell she is able to walk in them. There is no make up on her face, she doesn’t need it.
“Okay, before we leave, we want to tell you something,” Laura begins and grabs Jordan’s hand. They grin at each other.
“Are you getting married?” Erica asks, excited.
Jordan laughs softly.
“No. Not yet, at least,” he says. “We’re, we’re-”
“We’re pregnant!” Laura blurts out.
Everyone stands up excited, cooing and laughing. That’s, that’s fucking awesome. Stiles can’t help but all but jumping in his alpha’s arms, hugging her tightly.
“Oh my god, congratulations, L!” Stiles says grinning so widely his cheeks are hurting.
He steps back, but doesn’t let go of Laura’s arms. She smiles at him, cheeks flushed and eyes a little bit wet. Before she can say anything, though, Derek grabs her and squeezes her whole body, also smiling widely.
Stiles lets his husband take Laura’s attention and turns to Jordan, who’s grinning proudly. Boyd is clapping his back while Isaac and Danny stand to the side, commenting on how happy they are for them.
“Congratulations, man,” Stiles says and quickly hugs Jordan.
“Thank you, Stiles.”
“You’re going to be a great father.”
“I hope so,” Jordan laughs awkwardly. “I might need some help, though.”
“Oh, don’t worry, we got your back,” Isaac says. “We’re going to buy every book possible about good parenting and we’re all going to read it. So if you ever need help, we’re here for you guys.”
Happily, Jordan hugs Isaac, Stiles and Boyd. Then he goes to Laura’s side and takes her hand in her. She smiles at him and kisses him softly.
Derek, who got used to Parrish and stopped openly hating him for dating his older sister, reaches out to shake his hand.
“You better make sure Laura’s got everything she needs and want,” he says.
“I will, don’t worry.”
“I’m pretty sure Jordan would like me to just stay in home in bed until our little bean is born,” Laura teases.
“New York is dangerous, Laura.”
“You will protect me.”
“Of course I will.”
Laura laughs before kissing him, this time with a lot more passion. Erica whistles while Derek groans and closes his eyes.
For the rest of the time they have Stiles takes Derek to Laura’s kitchen where they sit down and sip some coffee, talking about Laura and Parrish. It’s going to be interesting, Stiles thinks. To have a baby pup with them. But they will try and do their best.
It’s going to be fine.
When the time comes their pack rushes out to get downstairs and into their cars, that were literally just delivered from Beacon Hills. The ride to the Phillips pack is about forty minutes long and mostly silent. The camaro and Laura’s audi pull up to a big, two-floored house in the nicest side of New York. There’s already a man standing on the porch. He looks like he’s around fifty years old, with a nicely groomed beard and straight silver hair that reach his shoulders. He’s smiling widely and when their pack comes up close enough he clasps his hands and rushes down the wooden steps to hug Laura.
“Laura! How great it is to see you again, my child,” he says happily. He stops hugging her only to start kissing her cheeks and forehead, repeatedly. Then he turn to Jordan. “You’re probably Jordan, I’ve heard so much about you.”
The man grabs Jordan and starts kissing him just like he did with Laura. Parrish is visibly confused and unsure what to do. Stiles barely resists from laughing out loud.
“Everybody, this is Declan Phillips, the alpha,” Laura introduces the man. “Declan, this is my pack. Jordan and Derek, you know already. Then there’s Stiles, Derek’s husband. Isaac and his human boyfriend Danny, and Erica and Boyd.”
Everyone says politely ‘hello’ as Declan hugs and kisses each of them, spending a little bit more time on Derek..
Then, when it’s over, Declan stands before them, smiling.
“It’s such a delight, being able to meet all of you. Laura, honey, I’m so glad you’ve found your pack.”
“It’s actually mostly thanks to Stiles,” Laura says with a smile and winks at startled Stiles.
“Well then, I’m glad you helped those two, my dear,” Declan tells Stiles. “Now come, my wife Florence is anxious to meet all of you and then stuff you full with food! Come, come.”
As they follow him, Derek reaches for Stiles hands. He squeezes it tightly and when Stiles looks at him he finds his husband looking anxious, nervous. He has no idea why and doesn’t even have time to asks, because they’re already inside where a bunch of people are waiting on them.
Stiles counts ten people, Declan included. Most adults, with only three kids, all around the age of ten.
“Okay, everybody, this is Laura and Derek’s pack. Let me do the introduction before we all attack each other with proper greetings,” Declan states and then happily introduces the Hale pack before turning to his family. “Now, this is Florence, my wife. That lovely queen is my mother, Elle.” The mentioned woman looks fondly at her son. “Marlene, Holly and Alexander are my children.” The three of them politely smile and nod. Stiles notices that Holly looks at Derek all the time, not even blinking, which is very disturbing. “This Dorian, Marlene’s husband, and their kids, Kai and Illiana. Sienna over here is Alexander’s.”
Declan smiles and looks at his family proudly, almost puffing out his chest. It’s a nice sight.
“Laura, Derek, I’m so glad to see you again,” Florence says before coming up to them and hugging tightly.
For about fifteen minutes the two pack greet each other. There’s a lot of hugs and kisses. Stiles isn’t used to being to tactile with strangers, but he’s quickly distracted by little Sienna, who practically glues herself to his left leg, refusing to let go. Her father, Alexander, apologizes for her and tries to rip her off forcefully, but Stiles tells him it’s okay, she can hold on to him if she wants to. That’s how he finds himself standing to the side with Sienna on his leg and Alexander talking about being a single father.
“Her mother left us right after giving birth,” he says with a shrug. “I wasn’t really sad or furious, not with this sunshine by my side. We weren’t in love, you know? And Sienna wasn’t planned.”
Stiles glances down at Sienna, who’s currently looking up at him. She grins widely.
“Should we really talk about this stuff with her right here?” he asks.
“Oh, right, I forgot to tell you. Sienna’s deaf and she can’t read lips yet. So we’re fine for now.”
“Okay, then,” Stiles nods. “Is it tough? Being a single father, I mean.”
“Sometimes,” he admits. “But I have my family. My sisters help me a lot with feminine stuff that I don’t get.”
Stiles goes to say he grew up with a single father, but before he can speak, Florence claps her hands and announces it is time to eat.
