Monstrous or no, the vast majority of life forms feel some urge to reproduce. Parasitic animals, in particular, will stop at nothing, even the wants, needs, and wellbeing of others, to complete the goal of securing another generation of their species.
Obligate brood parasites, especially, must put effort into this endeavor. Especially when human beings are concerned.
