Chapter Text
Mori was shot by Goto, however, she manages to survive and Goto was captured by Yata.
While they waited for Scepter 4 to show up and arrest Goto, Fushimi intended to kill Goto for shooting Mori and for her treatment in the past, but he was stopped by Yata just before Scepter 4 arrives.
The Blue King brings Fushimi back to his office and informs his subordinate that he believes Mori had manipulated his emotions unintentionally and that is why he had acted to violently toward Goto despite their rules at Scepter 4. Fushimi then Comes to the conclusion that he was not falling in love, though, he doesn’t feel quite right about that conclusion, and is ordered to stay away from Mori until further notice. He is also restricted to desk work and remaining by the Blue King’s side for his actions. Mori is now being supervised by Awashima.
At the same time, Awashima and Kusanagi interrogate Goto and learn about the organizations head honcho, an old German researcher who used to work under Weismann that extremely disagreed with Weismann’s vision of using the Slate for peace. With the slate currently in his possession, he is determined to rule Japan and then the world with his Pawn Kings as soon as he has the Red, Blue, Silver, and their Clansmen executed. Awashima and Kusanagi also learn about the new Colorless King, Ito Ena, was a man that is completely behind the organizations’ dream.
Later that day, Awashima goes to check on Mori and by the order of the Blue King, Mori is to train with Awashima to hone her skills as a Strain for a big operation against the organization.
A month has passed and Mori’s confidence is restored and it turns out she is a pretty dangerous Strain, so the Blue King decides to strike against the organization with the aid of the other Clans. He plans to have a team infiltrate the roof of the home while the Kings infiltrate the first floor of the home. The Blue King wants her to try to get her friends to be turncoats and surrender to the Blue King so there are no casualties amongst the Kings while the Blue King plans to detain the Colorless King along with the Silver and Red Clans help. He also wants Claus Scholz, the organizations boss, to be arrested.
During the operation Fushimi and Mori team up (along with Yata and Yatogami). Things don’t go according to plan and the team runs into the crazy colorless King. He tries to kill Fushimi but Mori stabs him with a knife made of fox fire and, thanks to Yata, admits that her caring for Fushimi was not staged or forced and desires a second chance. Fushimi, not understanding what it means to love someone, tells her they would discuss it after this mission was over. At that moment she becomes the next colorless king and is drawn to the location of the slate: the basement.
Unsurprisingly, Munakata is able to talk to Hayashi Koichi, Aso Mamoru, and Chiba Kei and convince them to come peacefully. Turns out they were only following orders so Mori wouldn’t be tortured and killed by the organization, but once they knew that she was safe, they gave up the location of the slate as well as the organization leader.
All parties venture to the basement, which end up being a large tunnel system, where they find the old man attempting to escape with the Slate with a few leftover strains. Red and Blue Clansmen deal with the Strains while the Blue and Silver King stop the man from escaping and confront him. Munakata is about to arrest the man, but the man pulls out a gun and shoots himself.
Once the building is secured and all have been arrested, the old and new Kings as well as most important Clan members meet at Scepter 4 HQ to discuss what to do with the Slate now that it is in their possession. At first they believed that the new Gold King, Hayashi, should take over watching the slate, but the young man notices that Mori is staring intently at it. He asks what her abilities are as the new Colorless king and none really know until Mori says that the Slate is calling to her and she says that it wants to be free from its physical restrains and rest as it did before it was forced to be incompletely reconstructed by Scholz, but forcing another Damocles Down was not necessary. The Slate then began to crack and Mori fell to the floor holding her chest, screaming, as she continues to translate for the Slate. Fushimi is the first to run to her as the Slate, through Mori, assures him that her life is not in any danger, but it is the only way to restore their world to the way the Silver King intended for it to be when the Slate was first destroyed. The Slate explains that a fragment of itself was retrieved and used to force a reconstruction, but because of its incompleteness it only had enough power to replace the Colorless King, so even if the old kings had been killed, it would be unable to grant Scholz’s wish and would have broken under the pressure. Mori was given the power to find and “free” the Slate from this world as the new Colorless King and asks her to bear with the pain while it destroys itself through her. Slowly, the Slate begins to fall apart and turns into dust, the dust then gathers and disappears within Mori. Mori passes out and the Kings and Clansmen begin to lose their power. Anna, Neko, and the other Strains lose their power.
A few days later, Mori wakes up in her apartment with Fushimi asleep on the floor by her bedroom door. She remembered that the Slate went inside her body and before she went unconscious she noted that it said it would allow her to keep the fox fire within her. Lifting up he hand, she could feel that she was the only one that had Strain abilities, but she was not nearly as powerful. The sound of her stirring wakens Fushimi and he trudges over to check her temperature, explaining that she’s been sick with a high fever since her passing out. Fushimi shares the past few days with her, how everyone is moving on and towards their new normals now that they no longer have powers again, clicking his tongue at the fact that she still had some power left.
Without warning, Fushimi grabs the girl’s hand and kisses it, stating that he hadn’t forgotten what she said and asks if she’s sure about him. She says yes, and tells him that they could take it slow if he wasn’t sure. Fushimi smiles and kisses her hand again, saying that he may be able to get used to being loved and falling in love if its her.
END!!!!!!
