Work Text:
If she had to find one word to describe Kuriyama Mirai perfectly, it would be cute. She is reckless and dumb, and she often acts shy and reserved, but on top of everything she is utterly cute. It is almost sickening, and sometimes Mitsuki catches herself staring into space while thinking about the way her short hair falls against her chubby cheeks, the sweet curve of her smile, or how her voice sounds like whenever she calls her senpai. It is ridiculous, but she thinks it sounds slightly different from when she calls Akihito the same way.
She knows it is wrong to think about her that way – not only because she is a girl and because of her bloodline. She is supposed to be alone; that is what her sister told her when she was a child, and she has had a firm belief in those words ever since. She wouldn’t change that because of some stupid, little crush on an endearingly silly girl. She couldn’t change that.
But when Mirai runs after a youmu and trips over her own feet, Mitsuki usually has to muffle a giggle and hide a smile behind her hand because she is extremely, incredibly cute.
