He looked like a man drowned, water dripping from his clothes. His eyes were sunken and the skin surrounding them was so dark it looked bruised, amplified by the slight yellow tinge where they had once been pure white. And those eyes... gone was the mirth or even the fear Aemond had last seen in them. They were dark pits of nothingness now. Completely and totally empty.
He was dead. He was dead and he was standing in the Red Keep.

He winced, that well-known Targaryen fire burning behind his lovely eyes at the accusation. It may have been a bit cruel, but it was far crueler for him to expect her to do nothing but sit and wait while he threw away the future she’d so painstakingly built. She was nearly his height and had come to stand half a foot from him. He may be a dragon, but she was a Martell. He could breathe fire himself and she would not be cowed.

Summary
A man named Cas wakes up in 2003 with no memories, but he's able to piece together a few things:
Supernatural creatures exist, and most of them will hurt innocent civilians if he doesn't stop them; he has abilities that no human hunter should have, but he knows enough about human hunters to keep that to himself, and finally; he keeps running into another hunter named Dean Winchester, who must be as lonely as he is if he's willing to put up with those former facts long enough to help Cas unravel the mystery of who (or what) he really is.
For his part, Dean's still (not) dealing with Sam's departure to Stanford, and figures distracting himself with a bit of mystery and intrigue is as harmless as it gets, right? Right.

“Greetings and salutations to you, Harrington!”
And there he was. Just as in your face and over the top as ever.
Only he looked… different. He looked like fucking Bon Jovi. Jeans so ripped they may as well just be shorts and a crop top and hair pulled back into a bun with loose bits falling around his face. In some weird way, the jeans almost seemed more revealing than shorts. They weren’t, of course, Steve couldn’t see the backs of Eddie’s legs or his left knee or either calf, but there was so much open ripping around his thighs that almost seemed more… teasing.
“Holy shit, I can see your whole face.” Steve mumbled out, lips parted in genuine surprise, instantly reaching out to try to touch the bun at the crown of his head.
Eddie batted him away.

Steve agrees to help Eddie paint his trailer, but isn't prepared for the bisexual crisis it sends him spiralling into.

“Uh, you okay?”
Chrissy jerks under the sink, head banging against the porcelain hard enough to rattle her skull.
Eddie Munson stands in the doorway, hands tucked in his armpits like he isn’t sure what to do with them. He stares at her for maybe half a second before his gaze darts to the graffitied wall.
Chrissy gapes up at him, his frame mostly a blur of shaggy hair and denim, before reality hits her and she scrambles out from under the sink, knees shaky and locked up from being tucked under for so long. “What are you doing in the girl’s bathroom?” She demands, swiping at her face like he hasn’t already seen her in what is quite possibly the lowest moment of her life.
Hey, at least it wasn’t with her fingers down her throat.
Eddie rocks on his feet, still avoiding her gaze, “I don’t have a good answer for that seeing as how this is the men’s bathroom.”
Chrissy feels the urge to gag again.
Something in the corner catches her eye.
A fucking urinal.

Summary
Dean turns his back on his family and the legacy of the Men of Letters when he learns Sam and Mary have been working with their British counterparts behind his back. Joining Cas on good-old-fashioned hunting trips, occasionally aided by Crowley, he soon learns there are more good monsters out there than he ever thought possible. And they need a protector.
Meanwhile, Sam is growing more and more lonely until one day, he looks in the mirror and doesn’t recognize the man staring back at him. Is it too late to return to the brother he’s let down so many times before?
