However, if anyone were to find out about his job, that would soon change. The weird kid working at a maid cafe? That is a rumor his peers would definitely be interested in spreading. He would be humiliated. That's why when he saw Dean Winchester walk in through the door, he knew he was done for. Or so he thought.

He’s become the big brother in his mission community, often cooking for the brothers and chatting warmly with his trio over dinner. Trios were more common during the Covid mission—limited as they were by shelter in place, and yet brimming with righteous young men. Men like Dea—Elder Winchester, that is. Green eyed, wild grinning. And… why not call him Dean, in the din of his own TV static mind after he’s said amen to Heavenly Father? Why not say Dean… only to himself, only in his mind, only to feel shudders of hopeless agony, shame roiling in his gut, clenching on sin of the mind. But wouldn’t he taste like it? Sin. And big Brother Novak smiles in the clear light of day, gummy and bright, Heavenly Father’s invisible hands nigh obvious on his broad shoulders, even if at night he curls up tight and wretched, doubting and tormented, thinking, Dean.
