"It’s not your fault."
Silver says those words impulsively, trying them on for size, unsure if it’s an attempt to convince Flint or himself. The truth of it doesn’t really matter. Being angry at Flint feels like being angry at winter for freezing you, rather than angry at yourself for not wearing a coat. Saying it’s Flint’s fault would be at once too easy and too dangerous.
But he wants Flint to say it. He wants Flint to argue, and weep. He wants Flint to make it right. He couldn’t for himself, so he must for Silver. Silver doesn’t know how that makes sense, exactly, but Flint fucking owes him this.
_____In the wake of Madi's death, Silver is left broken and reeling, unable to cope. Flint, determined to see him through it, allows him to vent his feelings.

Prompt: Flint and Silver fucking, with Flint so deep in subspace he couldn't find his way out if he tried. And then Silver does something unintentional that crashes him out of it. Subdrop, a lot of helpless but caring and trying Silver, bonus points for them finishing sexytimes out of the subspace once they both calmed down. No infantilization or daddy kink please. Can be canon or modern, dealer's choice.
After Charles Town, Silver and Flint become intimately familiar with each other’s pain. A mutually beneficial arrangement helps Flint cope, and provides Silver with a much needed outlet. Eventually, though, difficult memories are brought to the surface, forcing Flint to confront his past. Silver is there to help him pick up the pieces.

Way back in the day, before I had even finished watching Black Sails, I became totally convinced that Silver and Flint could have been fucking for the whole show and the dynamic would still work, and it wouldn’t necessarily change the outcome at all. The show narrative withholds information after all. That is basically the premise of this series. It is canon compliant perhaps to a fault, and evolves in many of the same ways as the show in terms of tone. As such - do not expect it to hurt any less. This is a love story. Agent Krycek shakes his head, and there’s a sudden earnestness in his eyes that makes Mulder’s chest tighten. “There were some of us who followed your work,” he says insistently, and Mulder can’t look away. “We believed in what you were doing because we knew that there was more out there than they were telling us. I still do.” No FBI agent has ever said that to Mulder. He never realized what it would mean. Mulder’s cell phone is ringing, but he’s transfixed until Krycek breaks eye contact. He answers it still half-dazed.
