Summary
Marvin’s father loved the sea so much that he became a part of it.
He drowned himself at the west harbor, pockets of rocks and lungs of water. Marvin was only six at the time but the memory is as clear as glass: the boats circling the bay with spotlights, the lifeless figure straining against the net as it was pulled from the ocean, his mother’s stunned grip on his shoulders.
Everyone else remembers it as just another silent tragedy that no one dares acknowledge but Marvin knows it as the last time his mother ever let him near the ocean.
Everyday since then, as if hearing the way the water calls to him just as he does, Marvin’s mother warns, “Don’t go near the sea.”
Marvin doesn’t listen. He never does.

“So you’re stealing this away from me.” Marvin says quietly, like you stole the money, like you stole my kid.
Whizzer slaps him on the shoulder, hitting Marvin like a bullet to the chest, “It’s more like a collaboration.”
Marvin sucks in a quick, deep breath, pointing out in a low murmur, “I don’t play well with others.”
Whizzer looks him up and down, sizing him up.
“I can tell.” Whizzer says, and this time when he touches Marvin’s shoulder, he lets his hand linger, “But we’re not going to be doing much playing.”When Marvin doesn’t respond, Whizzer squeezes his padded shoulder. He’s smiling, in a way that devastates Marvin.
Tilting his head, Whizzer asks, a bit coy, “Are we, Mr. Marvin?”

Marvin is a drama teacher who has an understandable flair for the dramatics. Whizzer is the new baseball coach who won't stop stealing everything that Marvin worked so hard to fortify - his prestige, his kid, his heart.

Written for the Hannibal Kink Meme prompt: Will figured out Hannibal was the Chesapeake ripper, resulting Hannibal's imprisonment and a complete breakdown for Will. A few years later, Hannibal escapes from prison. Despite the risk, the first thing he does is go after his Mongoose. Give me obsessive, possessive, creepy as hell Hannibal who still wants Will for his own.
