In this Universe, the mundane society is progressive and modernized, while among the Shadowhunter community, the belief that Omegas are weak and useless still persists, especially in Idris. They think that the angelic race will evolve, naturally leading to the elimination of the Omega gender. All Warlocks are Alphas, all Seelies are Beta, except for their Alpha Queen, while Vampires and Werewolves retain the second gender they had as mundanes.
