Summary
When Blake first opened her quaint little flower shop, it had become a home away from home. Her escape.
It's everything she could have ever hoped for, the warm sun shining through the windows, illuminating each and every bright petal that blooms around their disks. Getting to greet people all who have one thing in common – stopping by Red like Roses to grab a gift for someone they love.
It's only when an unexpectedly charming customer begins to frequent that the shop stops being warm and welcoming. It becomes special. Something that brought them together. A thread he tugs on until it's unwound. A thread he toys with and unravels and stretches to its limit.
From then on, Blake is never the same. Not as cheerful - the colourful tint to her cheeks gone, left ghostly. When the door chimes, the usual calm, peaceful demeanour she has is nowhere to be found – a walking corpse faces each customer with her best customer service smile.
This customer is no different. The door chimes. Closes with a clatter. A ray of sunshine bounds through the windows – but that isn't the only sunshine in the shop.

Summary
A bar that neither of them are supposed to be in. A night only one of them remembers, but which forever intertwines their fates.
Yang is a mechanic in Patch, and she’s happy with that life. The world has taken a lot from her, but the work keeps her grounded, keeps the grief at bay. But that comfortable status quo gets torn apart one late night thanks to a stray on her shop’s service ramp—a girl with golden eyes and a broken down car who looks at her like she knows her.
Yang yearns for the rush that comes with taking in broken things and breathing new life into them, but at this moment? With a stranger who looks at her like a sunrise? Yang has never been more terrified.

Blake is a responsible lifeguard who hates her job. Yang is a surfer living with reckless abandon. Each thinks the other is living the wrong way and aims to prove it, even if it involves almost drowning, wild parties, and reruns of I Love Lucy.
"Blake’s finger hovered over the screen, a strange sensation eating at her nerves. Two weeks ago she would’ve thrown herself into the ocean before even considering doing what she was about to."
