“You’re dead, Beck.” Charlie’s snaps back, arms crossed and standing with his back turned to Becky, who had just miraculously showed up. Head turned to the right to look at her. “Why- How, are you even here?”
“You’re asking me.” She replies, flatly. Her lips twisted, like she may cry.
Can ghosts cry?
“You’re the one I hear guilting himself for something he didn’t even do.” She crossed her arms, her extremely pale arms, across her chest. “Chuck, you’re not the one who kicked my face in before throwing me in the pond for some rando to find.”
“Stop.” Charlie swallows his tears.
“You can’t keep blaming yourself for something that you didn’t do.”

Becky is the ghost that roams the avenues when the streetlights go on every night since she was murdered by her neighbor, Mr. Jablonski who had also murdered her sister, Chrissy. Unsure of why her presence is withheld from her dead body, unlike Chrissy, she finds a grieving and self-blaming Charlie Chambers. She’s determined to help convince him it’s not his fault, even when he’s sunk into his own idea of how it played out.
