“Hendrik... You don't have to do that...”
The man looked at the sword he was holding. A powerful aura emanated from it.
“I know...”, he said. “But I am willing to do it. I cannot stand to miss this chance and not act.”
“It isn't your duty...”
“It is. I am the Luminary's shield, his sword, his unswerving companion. It is my duty to protect him. Therefore, I... there is someone else I vowed to stand by... I wish to honor my promise. Someone very important I failed... I want to save him, to prevent him from being consumed by the darkness... I want to do it for him.”
“We won't change your mind, right? Then... Then farewell, Hendrik... or rather good bye. And good luck.”
“...Thank you.”
He lifted the sword and, without thinking twice, he smashed the orb before him. He was going back to the day it all started. -

Summary
Erdrea was a happy and peaceful place. After the destructions of two kingdoms and several distressing months where the generals of Heliodor chased the Luminary across the world and put the various citizens under a lot of pressure – especially the Tactician and his cruel tactics – all was well as the Luminary and once lost prince of Dundrasil had returned and banished the evil from their world with the help of great comrades he had met along the way. The king of Heliodor came back to his senses after he was released from the demon possessing his body for the past sixteen years and he stopped the hunt of the Luminary. The once foes became great allies, and Hendrik the Swordsman, one of the two generals of Heliodor, followed the Luminary around the world to help him take care of the last evil threats weighting on the citizens’ shoulders. They had all returned home since a few months. Truly, all was well that ended well. Was everyone happy, though?

Summary
After the Luminary and his friends saved Erdrea from the threat Kalasmos posed, Queen Jade, newly crowned, decided to celebrate peace by organsing a masquerade for seven days. While everyone is enjoying their time, Hendrik isn't. The general is having a hard time overcoming the death of his closest brother-in-arms, and the celebrations without him are very painful. However, as he catches sight of a mysterious figure among the guests, he finds himself drawn to them and takes it upon him to discover their identity.
