Summary
Kara Nilur, a struggling musician from Baldur’s Gate, has lived in Waterdeep for four months with little to show for it. But when she takes a job in a bookshop, just to tide herself over, a chance encounter with a flustered university professor changes the course of her path.
An AU where the events of Baldur’s Gate 3 never happened, Mystra is Gale’s human ex-wife, and Gale is really, really into romance novels.

Summary
“I understand your point very well, beautiful man, but I'm not sure you understand mine.” She paused to dip her head for a brief kiss.
“I'm going to be just as much out of practice as you are.” Another kiss, a pair, this time tenderly on each cheek. He was beginning to feel dizzy again, his hands moving of their own accord under her shirt and up her back. Maybe this would be all right after all.
“We can astonish one another with our prowess later. In fact I'm quite sure we will,” she said with a cheeky grin, “but for tonight, let's just… love each other. We can be fumbling virgins again for a little while."

“And what a book it is! No wonder you were so... enraptured,” he teased, the corners of his eyes crinkling with a grin.
The book snapped shut as Tav reddened. She remembered the scene she had been reading, the words seeming so much more vulgar now that there was another person to bear witness.
“It's educational,” she declared, trying to save face. It was futile, she knew, but that had never stopped her before. In which Tav is reading smut. Gale catches her, and wants her to read it to him.
Tav is a cisgender female, but I tried to add as few descriptions for race/class as possible.
I added a few minor edits!

Summary
"To calm her nerves, she repeated the plan for what had to be the dozenth time. “Okay, Jaheira and Lae’zel, you’ll go gather the allies we’ve made. Wyll and Halsin, you’ll start evacuating people before it gets messy. Astarion, you’re going to sneak ahead and scout. Sadowheart, Karlach, Gale and I will-”
She cut off as she looked around camp at her companions. Someone was missing.
“Where’s Gale?”"
Five years later, Tav still struggles with nightmares about their adventures.

“As much as I want to devour you, I promise I will be gentle,” Halsin said, his voice soft like the evening breeze around them.
“I'm not fragile,” Evie said.
“I'm aware.” He watched her mouth as he dragged the pad of his thumb over her bottom lip. “But you are precious.”

"Don’t think I haven’t seen your copy of Volo’s Complete Guide on the Behavior of Nymphs. You can’t hide dirty books from me, Gale. Even if they are glamoured to look like mathematical theory."

“Do you trust me?” Evie asked. Her eyes, like warm honey, stared at him intently.
This was the natural stopping point. The point where it was obvious Gale had forgotten that he was supposed to be the responsible one, the one to keep them both out of trouble. Staring at the soft curves of Evie’s body, her hand under his shirt - those were amusing, one-off accidents. Now was the perfect time for Gale to gently guide Evie’s hand away and tell her she should try to get some sleep.
“I trust you,” Gale said hoarsely.
Well, he tried.

“Don’t apologize. It’s my own fault, really, now that we finally have a moment to breathe I should have thought to hold some magic back for you tonight.”
It takes a moment for this statement to sink in, and she looks up at him, confused. “Hold back some—what do you mean?”
Gale looks down at her, equally nonplussed. “I mean, tomorrow, circumstances permitting, I’ll try to keep some magic in reserve, so we can… you know, commune as we did last time.”
“Gale.” Tav untangles herself from him and sits back up so she can look at him properly. “Do you think I want it to be like that every time?”
He takes a small breath, then holds it, studying her with a slight frown on his face. Finally, he asks, “don’t you?”Gale finds out that no, she doesn't.

Summary
He clears his throat, coughs a little, then gives his head a tiny shake. “I’m finding myself quite exhausted suddenly. Too much wine at dinner, I imagine.”
They had drank quite a lot of wine, Tav thinks, so maybe it is just that. But she can’t shake the worry she feels at the look in his eyes. “Are you sure you’re all right?”
Gale smiles and takes her hand again. “I’m sure, my love,” he says. “Let’s go home.”Despite fulfilling Mystra's request to return the Crown and having the orb successfully removed, Gale comes down with a case of lingering Karsite Weave poisoning, ruining the triumphant return to Waterdeep he'd imagined and sending him spiraling. Tav does everything she can to help him through it.

Summary
“People always make jokes about married couples being boring.” It sounded extremely petulant when Evie actually said it out loud. “What if I’m sick of him in ten years and we’re both boring and mean?”
“You could be sick of him in ten years anyway!” Karlach insisted. “Or Gale could be your husband. He'd be by your side through anything and you could be really, really happy together. Babes, you gotta seize your own fucking life, you know? No one's gonna show up at your door with a letter telling you you’re ready for the big shit now.”

Evie has settled into life in Waterdeep but she’s not quite sure if she’s ready to settle down.

Summary
“I don’t usually watch uh…reality dating programs.”
“Oh, it’s much more than a dating program," the network executive said. "It brings together contestants from all of the Tadpole network’s programming slate and demonstrates what they all have in common at their core. The show is about strategy and human drama. Of course there are relationships but how can one understand the human condition without love?”
“I suppose that’s true,” Gale said cautiously. He had never watched Matchmakers but the trailer sometimes autoplayed on his Tadpole app and most of the contestants seemed to be wearing bathing suits in every shot and yelling at each other. “I’m just still not sure how I could fit into a show with quite so much human drama."

Summary
Gale won't stop talking. Dottie decides she needs to make him shut up somehow. That's it, that's the whole thing.
A one-shot of pure filthy practiced tongue centric smut featuring everyone's favourite verbose wizard and the Tav I use in all my fics, the equally verbose Dottie who has had it up to here with Gale's endless yapping today. Set outside the timeline of the game, probably in his tower in Waterdeep, but there is absolutely no plot to this one and you don't need to read any of my other stuff for context (unless you want to?). We're just sitting on Gale's face, that's really it, end of message spell.
