It had only been a moment, but Lark was sure he had seen it. There was a tension in Nick’s eyes, something wild and jittery and unsettled. But before he could really figure out what was happening Nick smiled a teasing, knowing grin, as though he hadn’t just shown up feeling a bit off balance.
“Like the corset?” Nick winked at him, and Lark felt his face flush to the tips of his ears and by the way Nick’s eyes lit up, he hadn’t missed it.

Lark never stabbed Henry Oak, so the blood of the unsung hero was never spilled and the Doodler was never released. But everything else? Their other adventures through the Forgotten Realms, the Rogue Card pulled by Henry, the trial of Glenn Close, the people they had met and the dangers they escaped, those still remain.
So what do you do then?
The kids did their best, got through the rest of being kids and are, for the most part, off to college.
That is except for Nick Close-Foster and Lark Oak-Garcia. They're not sure where they're off to until Nick shows up one night with one hell of an idea. Of course Lark is gonna go.

Summary
There were certain things that Hotch had told himself he was allowed.
And the one thing, regardless of what happened that he told himself he couldn’t have was Reid.
As his life fell apart around him, he couldn’t be sure if that’s what drove his (not so) sudden inclination to spend more time with Reid or if it was his slow fall into depravity that was starting to strain his marriage. It didn’t seem to matter which way in the end when Hailey had left him.
And even as Hotch knew he had lost his wife, he still wasn’t allowed to have Reid.
He told himself that he didn’t need anyone, that he could remain an honorable man.
That honor nearly cracked when Reid had volunteered to interrogate an unsub.
Hotch would escape to his office, and bury whatever this was under a mountain of paperwork. He left for a single moment only to come back to find Reid leaning against his desk.
“Did I do something?” Reid asks, and it wasn’t really a question and Hotch knew there wasn’t really an answer. -

“Get out of here, I got Lark, go!” Nick held the door he had just come into open for the others to retreat through. Sparrow stopped for a moment but Nick only shoved him out after Grant.
Nick turned back and nearly screamed.
The baker had what might have been a board scraper once upon a time in hand, but before Lark could do anything about it, that piece of jagged metal was plunged into his shoulder. He barely made a noise in protest, only pushing harder against the acolyte, holding it against the oven.
It didn’t make sense. Nick looked at the oven and then at Lark and then it clicked.

Get out of here Close. Lark only glanced over his bleeding shoulder at Nick, those cold eyes alight with rage and determination and…
Fuck you, Nick thought. He Sprinted forward, his arms wrapping around Lark and pulling him to his chest. The metal of the oven was starting to warp in the heat that was even starting to bother Nick. He snapped and a Gate appeared. He clung to a wreathing Lark and stepped back through it.
