Summary
It is the summer of 1997, and death and doubt shrouds the wizarding world, thick as Peruvian Instant Darkness Powder. Flora Carrow, caught in the cold arms of her father Amycus' cruelty, pays for his downfalls with the life of her Muggle mother. Yet it is not guilt that plagues her, not more than the regret she swallows.
September falls, and with it returns Flora to Hogwarts, where, under her father and aunt's reign, blooms the underground resistance of Dumbledore's Army. Amid the growing rebellion, a thorny love takes root, tangled with the weeds of hatred.
1998, the year of Voldemort's vanquishing, arrives, and Hestia, Flora's twin, has been following an unsettling pattern of deaths in the Daily Prophet—deaths she cannot explain. Deaths that stab her malediction-throbbing pulse points. Deaths that cannot be anything but murder.
And then it is May, where our story ends. But with Flora's death, the shattered shards of her life that we have known only as sharpened weapons—the war, her mother's death, the resistance, her love for Millicent, and the inexplicable murders—demand to be reassembled into the mirror they once formed.
But its reflection may not show us Flora's face—not as we knew it.
