Summary
Having done nothing but work and study for years, Siren prides herself in being a valuable piece of the puzzle. As a specialized mage and Academy council member, her time is of the essence. Her dedication to her craft is such that she barely breathes outside of it. This delicate balance of schedule is eroded once she gets close to someone unexpected: Prince Laurel Greyland, heir to the Lunar Bay's neighboring and allegedly vast kingdom.
She hadn't imagined she'd get to exchange words with him at all and the idea that she'd look forward to it'd have sounded asinine. If anything, he should be just as insufferable as any other man of his stature. Instead, his easy smiles and dolled up face have caught her off guard. Worse than his pretty face are his words of concern towards her.
When her infatuation turns her world upside down, she is forced to face the truth of her standing in the capital.

Summary
Living right at the border that separates reality, your community and a country at war requires a certain degree of adaptability and, to Ellis' chagrin, wariness. The latter is a trait he cannot uphold when a disgruntled foreigner crawls to his home. Even though she may very well be a disgraced Imperial mage, she also looks terrified and in need of a helping hand, though no one would fault him for sending her away.
The stranger is Morgiah, an outcast who used to thrive on magic and solitude. What makes her look so startled is the mere idea that someone like Ellis wants to be of use to her for seemingly no reason. Torn between what was stolen from her and her enjoyment of their time together, she struggles through it without ever being sure of Ellis' motives.

Summary
Young mage Eleanor Duskhand finds a plushie containing a trapped human soul during an excursion to the rifts. Though she shouldn't, she brought it home in hopes of aiding the poor soul. However, she feels a little lost with it all and needs someone to confide in - the thing is, she's kind of a loner and doesn't know who is trustworthy in the Academy.
NOTE: Unfinished as of right now, but enough to be a prequel for Irina's apparition in "Empty Gardens" :)

Summary
After deserting her country's army, Morgan is taken in by a secluded community and, shockingly enough, nursed back to health. Even though she'd journeyed all the way there deliberately, she hadn't expected to be received with open arms. Despite the generosity of the general populace, she can't communicate with them. The only one who speaks the same language as her is a supernatural force who thrives in such secluded areas.

Summary
Nicola has to cope with the consequences of tampering with her soul. Despite having mocked what she perceived to be Oleander's delusions and obsessions in the past, she latches onto them quite quickly. As a result, she doubts her own motives and place in the world for the first time in many years. Meeting someone who questions her every reasoning only exacerbates it all.

Summary
Though both "Fracture" and "The Greatest Lie" can be read on their own (just like 99% of the Umbralverse series), they serve as necessary context for "Empty Gardens" which is a direct sequel to "Fracture". It relates to "The Greatest Lie" in the sense that it is a bit of an expanded epilogue for it; Irina's apparition in "Empty Gardens" would be quite confusing otherwise.
and the makeshift series title is just because, well, Living Armor sorta brought all these characters together. :p

Summary
Cobalt City is famous for being the home of real-life vigilante superheroes. Kate Harvey, known as Nocturna, is one of them.
Vigilantism is a questionable coping mechanism for dealing with trauma she won’t ever be able to shake, but it works just fine if you ask her. Juggling school and her less than legal job on the side isn't ideal, but it’s nothing she can’t handle. Having something as normal as a relationship wasn’t something she'd ever considered–that is, until she imprints on her new coworker.

Summary
“There is no pride to be won in besting a rival at diminished capacity.”
“Rivals. Yes.” Illusen looked down. “All we’ve ever been, and all we ever will be.”
Jhudora sucked a breath through her teeth. She wasn’t about to have this conversation. “Stop your rambling,” she ordered instead. “The energy would be better spent recovering than dwelling on the past.”
---
After the confrontation with Balthazar, Illusen is too weak to make it back to her own festival unaided. Jhudora brings her back to her bluff to recover in the meantime, as she suspects Fyora would have her head if she came back without Illusen. That is all. That is the only reason.
And if memories happen to resurface in the night... they both know better than to linger on them.
