Summary
Jayce Talis is nothin if not pigheaded. He also has a hero complex the size of the moon. This is why he is endlessly frustrated by Viktor - strong, independent, just-as-stubborn Viktor - who refuses his help every step of the way. What starts as a regular argument spirals into something more that neither of them are entirely sure what to make of.
Aka. Jayce's silly notions about damsels in distress and being a gentleman don't work as well on Viktor

Summary
Viktor isn’t dense. Despite his quiet disposition, he’s not particularly socially inept. He may be one leg down and one foot in the grave, but he’s still not blind either. He knows when eyes trail him and he knows when they’re filled with pity or disgust. But he knows when they’re filled with heat and want, too. He sees such looks directed between lovers and those who covet that which they can’t have, but every once in a while he notices a look or two like that shot in his direction. It’s flattering every time it happens but he always chooses to ignore them – it’s not like any of them can offer him what he really wants.
What starts off as Viktor reluctantly attending one of the Council's lavish parties, ends rather interestingly when Jayce spends the night over in Viktor's apartment.

“I want you to tell me, Jayce. I really do. But if you are not ready then so be it.” He pulls away from the other completely. It is perhaps a little cruel, but he will not continue if Jayce is not going to communicate with him. He picks up his cane and stands up and when Jayce tries to grab for him, he smacks the other’s hand away with the polished wood.“You refuse me? You had no trouble letting your mouth speak your mind last night. Why is it any different now, hm?” He presses the thumb more insistently and Jayce’s head tips back automatically. Jayce smells like his sheets. He smells like skin and like the smoke from a forge even after he spent a night in Viktor’s sweltering room and mingling with the heavily perfumed elite. He tightens his grip possessively as he remembers the hands that had dragged down the other’s form during the night. This time, Jayce whimpers pathetically and Viktor hums in turn.
