MK breathes out a laugh, disbelieving but not at all surprised. “You two are more alike than you’d think, you know.”
Mei gasps in mock offense, hand over her heart as she steps further inside. “Geez, Mk. Way to make me feel bad. Ain’t no way I’m that lame. Plus, my sense of style is sleek and fresh, his is…” She looks at the living space, face pinched, “yeah.”

Summary
MK and Bai He attend the same camp and find out they were adopted by the same people -Macaque and Wukong. They then embark on an effort to get their divorced parents to at least be civil to each other, but lingering feelings make that harder than they imagined. However not all the lingering feelings are negative and love begins to rekindle. But throw in the fact that Wukong was and is already dating someone else and you've got a soap opera amount of drama.
This is a "The Parent Trap" AU it doesn't exactly follow the movie but the general gist is the same.

“Pfft, I know I’m a looker, but you don’t hafta stare that much,” Wukong says, trying to break the tension and divert from the fact that Macaque’s intense scrutiny is making him clammy.
“Did he lose his ability to speak?” MK wonders.
Macaque’s ears flicker towards MK’s voice, and as if in response, his mouth opens, eyes still heavy on Wukong. But what comes out are not words. Or rather, not recognizable words—not to this world, not to anyone. Not anyone but Wukong.
Macaque opens his mouth, and speaks the language of celestial primates.
“Who are you?”
Or, to protect Sun Wukong, Macaque dooms himself to live out three turning points of his first life: birth, friendship, and death. When MK and the gang volunteer to look after him, Wukong is forced to grapple with memories thought to be buried, reality-shattering discoveries, and most dangerous of all, a Macaque that likes him. It's a losing battle.

Centuries spent lurking in the shadows, hunting those that have hunted him, and running from his past has left the Six-Eared Macaque wary of starting a new life.
Despite that, he finds himself in the presence of an an old friend and a new ally.
Even after everything he did, MK wants Macaque to co-mentor him alongside Sun Wukong, the Monkey King. For what reason? Macaque isn't sure, but he knows that this has got to be the worst idea that kid could ever have.
