Summary
Simon Eriksson is a speech pathologist. He grew up in foster care and he now has a deaf foster child he is in the process of adopting. He has only dated women. Wilhelm also has a child who he discovers is deaf. Wilhelm has severe social anxiety disorder but his son's needs force him to interact with the deaf community. Wilhelm and Simon meet in a support group for single dads. Simon dislikes Wilhelm when they meet. Wilhelm is deeply closeted and his meeting with Simon challenges Wilhelm's closet door.
****author note-I was raised by a deaf mother. This fic is dedicated to her. She never learned sign. She never had any deaf friends or a deaf community. Her isolation was painfully real.

Summary
Prince Wilhelm and Simon are living together in the Dakota, an iconic apartment building in NYC with Felice. Wilhelm and Felice are in college. Simon is applying when the story begins. Simon has SLAA (sex and love addiction) Wilhelm is still dealing with anxiety, depression and anger. The monarchy continues to lean on him. Erik is expressing his bisexuality. They are spending time in Woodstock, about 2 hours outside the city.
I strongly encourage readers to read The Green Journal, the first installment in this fic. It will help readers to understand the character arcs better. This could be a stand-alone but would make more sense having read The Green Journal first.

A chance encounter brings Simon and Wille together. Wilhelm meets Simon in a life drawing class at Columbia where Wille is studying. They will attempt to weather the stormy seas of their differences. Some issues with sex and love addiction and an anxiety disorder.
They will end up together, I promise. it'll take some work.

Wilhelm is on the verge of abdicating the throne. August is the next heir apparent. The future is unknown for the Crown Prince of Sweden and his working class lover. They have recently come out publicly to the Swedish people. The future of Hillerska is also uncertain as scandals have threatened the school closure. Wilhelm's parents are attempting to build a relationship with their queer son. Embedded in the story is a history of Wilhelm's anxiety disorder and panic attacks and sexual abuse/self harm in Simon's past. How do Wilhelm and Simon navigate their lives as young out queers while dealing with/healing their mental health? Swimming has always been a panacea in times of trouble for both of them. Their mutual love of water is the emotional glue that binds them together as well as their deep and evolving love for one another.
Chapter 8 and beyond-aged up 10 years.
