Summary
Like a downtrodden puppy, Ness mutters in derision, Seriously, what’s so interesting about taking a picture of me?
Because you’re cute, his mirage says, completely enamored by the view below him, and watches in satisfaction as red blooms on Ness’ cheeks.
Ness’ eyes blow out in surprise and embarrassment, and his upraised hand falters—Kaiser takes this chance to snap a picture, immortalizing this bashful version of Alexis Ness for eternity.
(or: Michael Kaiser does not do regret)

"You’re going to be a victor and live in the Capitol, surrounded by all the riches you dreamed about. But you’ll be miserable, Ness. You’ll never escape me. I’m going to haunt you for the rest of your life. I’ll live in your mind, just out of reach, until it drives you insane. You’ll never, ever forget me, and that means I’ll never die."
Or, Ness faces an impossible choice.

Summary
Ness was a veritable Prince Rupert’s Drop. He was great under pressure, able to shoulder the stresses that came with their budding football careers, but if something struck him in just the right spot, he’d shatter. Michael often wondered what that point would look like - destruction came naturally to him, and along with it came a sinister curiosity that he had trouble denying. Ness cried at even the simplest of inconveniences, so he was certain there would be tears, his usual anxious babbling, perhaps even an angry outburst -
What Michael didn’t expect, however, was blood.
Kaiser and Ness both have some bad habits, but when Ness starts disappearing after practice, Kaiser can't help but investigate.
