Mickey doesn’t look at him. “A while.”
“How long’s a while?”
Mickey shrugs. “Don’t know,” he answers honestly. He stares at his hands. “Just… something I’ve always thought about, I guess.”
They’ve known each other for close to a decade now, and Ian is still always surprised when he learns new things about his husband. He wonders how long it will take him to know it all.

Ian hums through a sigh. “Do you think we’ll have enough food?”
“Yes,” Mickey mumbles against his back, his chest vibrating with a laugh. “You said everyone was bringing something, right?”
“Yeah.”
“I think we’re gonna have more than enough,” Mickey muses, squeezing Ian’s waist before he pulls away. “Not gonna know what the fuck to do with all the leftovers.”
Ian smiles softly. He knows Mickey is right, but he can’t help it. He worries. He wants today to be perfect.
Mickey grabs a mug from the cabinet and pours himself a cup of coffee. He takes a sip and leans his hip against the counter. “Gimme the rundown again.”

"Fuck no." Mickey does up his button and zipper. "I never said it was a good idea. I said it's something I have to do."
"Yeah, but why?"
Mickey swipes his phone and wallet off the dresser. "Just do."
