Phoenix loves the feel of the warm water running over his hair, the soft pads of Miles' fingertips and neatly trimmed nails massaging gentle circles into his scalp. He feels at peace after the stress of constantly worrying about his job, his friends, or his finances. Usually, during his appointment, the two men talk incessantly. But when Miles washes Phoenix’s hair, they both drift off into comfortable silence, the barber’s touch so tender amidst Phoenix’s locks.
Phoenix Wright, the sole pianist for the LA Orchestra, is chastized by the organization's financial manager to get a nice haircut. "No one wants to see a shlubby ensemble!" she told him. "This is LA! You can’t go to Supercuts and expect that to hack it!” Phoenix walks into The Pawn & Ponies, the carefully curated hipster barbershop of one Miles Edgeworth... and the course of his life and the state of Los Angeles are never the same again.
The post-apocalyptic barbershop AU that no one asked for but we all secretly needed.

Each chapter springs up around various homes, furniture, and found family. As Phoenix and Maya attempt to pick up the pieces after Mia's death, Edgeworth and Franziska are likewise struggling to figure out themselves and their feelings in the wake of Von Karma. Mostly about letting people into your life and letting them change your way of life: how caring for others can ultimately help you care for yourself.
