Summary
The scars left behind by the wars of the Shattering have lasted since they began, and far after they ended. Morgott sought to shelter away the scars, and sear them closed, but the wounds still lay open underneath.
Told through the perspective of two people who were closest to Morgott during the Shattering, his loyal knight and his Perfumer, who witnessed the descent of the Veiled Monarch into blind ruthlessness.
This fic will be referenced in Crown of Thorns but can be read by itself as a separate story.
