Summary
Merlin never believed in the whole nonsense of a True Pair, especially when his own life has never been roses and fairytales. While his best friend, Gwaine, believes in such childish things, Merlin always believed that he has full control of his destiny and fate.
That's until he meets his True Pair Alpha.

Summary
Canon era AU. Arthur and Gwen have been married for a little over a year when Arthur discovers Merlin's magic, and suddenly everything changes. In a desperate attempt to regain the King's trust, Merlin offers to do the only thing he can think of: to voluntarily bind his power, and with it sacrifice all hope for a united Albion.
