“Ow!” He jumped, ripping his finger away from the paper and quickly sticking it in his mouth.
Paper cut.
Spock gasped, the sound more audible than any he’d heard from the man. Jim looked up, their eyes meeting for a brief second. The vulcan’s eyes moved from where Jim’s finger was in his mouth to his eyes and back down again, as if something were pulling his gaze there.
Feeling insecure, he pulled the finger from his lips with a gentle pop. He saw Spock swallow, physically swallow, at the motion. Curiosity filled his mind as he watched a faint dusting of green rise to the other man’s cheeks.
“Paper cut.” Jim said dumbly, holding up the finger.
Spock cleared his throat, “Right.”

“Have you considered getting a summer job?” Amanda asked, taking the clothes from her suitcase and setting them into the hotel dresser.
Spock simply raised an eyebrow at his mother.
“It’s an Earth custom, a tradition even! Most boys your age get a job before they go off to college.”
“I am not going to college, I am in the process of applying to the Vulcan Science Academy.” Spock replied.
“I know honey, but we’re going to be here for about 4 months, you’ll need something to do.”

Spock is spending the summer on Earth. Jim just graduated high school and is promoted to general manager at the Dairy Queen he's been working at. Enemies->Friends->Lovers in the Dairy Queen?? Yes. We love the shitty summer job you get before college.

He rolled onto his side, every movement causing a deep pulse in his head and a sharp pain in his left lumbar region. Eventually he had rolled over enough to get his arms underneath himself and he started to push himself up.
“Uunghh!” He cried out in anguish, falling back onto his forearms and pressing his forehead against the ground. His mind was blank, filled with nothing but pain that became more intense as he tried to remember… well… anything.

His hair is messy, golden brown and lightly curled, and his eyes are a brown-green hazel. His skin is lightly tanned, and he thinks he’s probably around average height, maybe a bit taller. His shoulders are broad, arms thick with muscle but not overly defined. He’s wearing a gray shirt with a logo and the words “Starfleet Academy” emblazoned on it, as well as a pair of soft sleep pants.
He doesn’t recognize himself at all.
And, with a start, he realizes that he doesn’t even remember his own name.
