Summary
At times, Touya will wake up drenched in sweat, his mind back on that smoking battlefield, and he’ll hear Shouto cry his name to keep him conscious.
He'll be in that hospital room again, a tube pumping Shouto’s blood into his veins, like a red string of fate. Touya had been out of it, but he remembers that sight, that feeling, vividly. The weight of Shouto’s hand in his, how he’d refused to let him go, is seared into his brain.
As much as Touya compartmentalizes to keep self-doubt out of his choices, there’s no lying to himself about one thing. It had been that crushing grip, more than the transfusion, that saved his life. More than the skin grafts, more than this second shot at life itself.
Who was this person that Shouto loved with such fury? Had Touya gotten it wrong from the start, thinking he had to fill someone else’s shoes instead of simply being?or: the Todoroki siblings negotiate how to pick up the pieces of their broken relationship, one painstaking shard at a time

There’s a question bubbling in his eyes, but Natsuo has the feeling it’s only tangentially related to the cooking lesson. They’ve been together for a long time; Natsuo can recognize what doubt looks like on his face.
“What’s wrong?”
Tenko doesn’t respond right away. His gaze stays on the hotpot, his eyes glazing over in thought. When he speaks, he doesn’t sound self-deprecatory, only contemplative.
“Does it hold you back that I’m stuck in tutorial mode?” he asks, chin lifting to study him.
“What? No,” Natsuo says immediately, his brows furrowing. “Why would it?”
Tenko shrugs. “There’s a lot of shit that Sensei and the Doctor didn’t bother teaching me. Stuff I didn’t need to be a Symbol of Terror, but that others take for granted.” -

Rumi leans forward, ignoring the shock of pain exploding in her right side.
“This?” she echoes.
The President glances at her wounds too, then her face, like she's scanning Rumi's micro-expressions to spot a weakness. She won’t find one.
“You have to understand that you have a duty as the number one now,” she says. Rumi blames the drugs for how it takes her a couple of seconds for the words to truly sink in. “That comes with certain expectations—”
“Hold the fuck up,” Rumi interrupts with a scowl. “What did you just say?”Or: in the aftermath of the Jakku Hospital raid, hero society finds itself on the verge of an unprecedented crisis. With the top ten in tatters and faith in heroes at its lowest point in history, the Commission needs a brave face to weather the storm.

Summary
The day Lord Todoroki’s firstborn came into the world, a curse befell his land. Lightning tore up the clear sky, demons crawled out of it, and a baby wailed his first cry.
The pact was sealed.
Devils would roam the earth freely, but no samurai army would taint the Lord’s rice fields with blood. The region would prosper. He would be the greatest ruler of his era. His newborn’s sacrifice wouldn’t be in vain, if devouring him alive would sate the demons’ hunger long enough to bring peace.
The baby was left wailing until his voice died out, but not even the love of a mother could ease his pain. He could not hear nor see, for he had no ears or eyes. In their place, gaping holes adorned a skinless face. A monster, the midwife cried when she saw him, bolting out of Lady Rei’s chambers.
A monster, the Lord agreed, eyeing it like it was one of the fiends he’d summoned. Averting his eyes from the gruesome malformations, he ordered a servant to abandon it in a river.

Who would have thought Karasu- Otoya's crabby, aloof, older coworker- had a thing for him? Not Otoya, at least not until he confesses to him one day. He gets rejected, of course, because Otoya isn't gay. Only, it turns out Karasu isn't either, so now he's left to wonder- what are two not-gay guys, one of whom had definitely asked the other yes-homo out on a date, supposed to do now?

“So this is where you live,” Reo says with delight, surveying the space.
Nagi tenses, despite himself.
He’s never been one to collect or collate. Most of his worldly possessions outside his phone were given to him by Reo, but even his soccer cleats have been tucked away in his closet, collecting dust because he hadn’t bothered joining the university team (there was no point in playing, if not with Reo). He doesn’t have the fine upholsteries that Reo is used to, and Nagi knows that Reo is the one that asked to stay over, and could call Ba-ya any moment he wants to, but Nagi can’t shake the feeling that he’s being laid bare, as if he’s telling Reo I have nothing to give you, but I’m asking if you want me anyway.
It’s a terrifying feeling. His heart is in his throat, a noose around his neck that he put there himself. It’s no one’s fault but Nagi’s own that he’d grown attached to Reo like this.
And seven months ago, it was this very feeling that led Nagi to this apartment.
