Summary
Shouto woke up suddenly, cold sweat running down his nape and spine. It took a few moments for his pounding heart and gasping breath to slow down, making him able to take in his surroundings. He looked around frantically, trying to adjust his sight so he could see the room properly.
No burns on the walls or the floor. No discarded bandages lying around. No telltale sign or threat of him barging in to, most probably drunkenly, take him to the ‘training room’.
Shouto exhaled, noticing for the first time that he had stopped breathing for a moment. He wasn’t 5 anymore. This wasn’t his old room in the place he used to call, but never really was, a home.
