Summary
The back doors to the gymnasium flung open at blinding speeds, and out of the doorway flew two spirited souls.
A man and a woman, both dressed formally, escaping the awkward confinements of a high school dance they had volunteered to chaperone at. They ran hand in hand as the pitter-patter of their feet melodically filled the sidewalk. Their wounded hearts led the way to the place wounded hearts often find themselves: the movie theater.
They were Shinobu Kocho and Giyu Tomioka, and after a year of silence, they were finally talking again.

Summary
It was no secret to anyone at Kimetsu Academy that Tanjiro Kamado and Kanao Tsuyuri were close. He was, after all, her best friend.
Every day, the pair would walk to and from school together. She came to his family’s bakery so often that they basically considered her family. He helped her emotionally process a lot of past trauma to overcome her social anxiety. They practically became inseperable after a their first year of friendship. Many people had teased the two about being a couple, but they had always ignored them and lived according to how they viewed themselves and each other.
But everything began to change with the upcoming school dance.

Summary
Marina is having the best day of her life, and Pearl is trying very hard not to focus on the sensation of the ring pressed into the skin of her chest, held in place by the tightness of her costume and the chain around her neck. The crowd pulses in time with the drums and screams their guts out as Pearl pushes on through her rap beats, and they bring it home like always—and no one knows just how hard Pearl knocked herself into the past.
All except Marina, who grabs her hand as the stage descends and the smoke clears. They have exactly ten seconds until they’re whisked into a golf cart and rushed to the next stage, and Marina doesn’t waste them. She pulls Pearl close, presses her face into the top of her sweaty head, heaving for breath herself, and mumbles, “I can’t wait to perform with you like that for the rest of my life.”
And Pearl’s hearts seize and it’s all she can do to stop herself from proposing right there.

Summary
At first, Acht doesn’t know what to make of Pearl.
Face to face with Marina again after almost a decade and she looks so different, yet completely the same—so much so that Acht almost completely misses that Pearl is an inkling. First contact with the supposed enemy, and she’s a puny thing in a giant coat who will not shut up about Marina until they rescue her. And Marina, steadfast, serious Marina, is completely smitten with her.
