Summary
Steve knows he and Eddie are close, and maybe it’s a tiny bit desperate of him to come running (literally) as soon as Eddie even suggests that he needs Steve’s help with his heat, but Steve’s also not one to look a gift horse in the mouth.
In retrospect, maybe Steve should have asked more questions, but his human brain is kind of taking a backseat to his alpha brain, checking out almost entirely when he enters their apartment.

“Don’t need you choking on your own vomit in case you throw up,” Eddie says softly, and Steve thinks he hears an underlying tone of pain somewhere in there.
“Mm ‘kay,” Steve mumbles, gazing up at Eddie through half-lidded eyes. The blurriness is starting to subside a little bit, but not all that much.
Eddie sits down next to him, his back resting against Steve’s headboard. “How are you feeling?” Eddie asks, voice soft as he looks down at Steve. His hair is curlier, frizzier, even. “Your hair looks so curly,” Steve says, curbing Eddie’s question completely. A shocked laugh is ripped from Eddie’s throat, looking down at Steve in bewilderment. “I like it when you laugh,” Steve tacks on, before Eddie can say anything in rebuttal to him.
A rose blush dusts over Eddie’s cheeks. He shifts where he sits. He clears his throat, “you do?” He asks. Steve nods, a dopey look of his own falling across his face. “Yeah, ‘s loud…Like you, like you own the whole room when you laugh.”

The Food Channel is desperate, ratings are abysmal and they don’t know how they will stay afloat. In a last-ditch effort, they cash in all their favors to score some celebrities and hand-selected a batch of bakers. A metalhead, a drag queen, an obsessive horror fan, a deaf guy, and even a vegan. They’re going to appeal to ALL demographics.
If that doesn’t work, the rivalries they brewed behind the scenes (with a few clever spies and suggestible contestants focused on the prize money) should do the trick. Who doesn’t love a bit of reality TV fighting? That should lure the viewers in.
Between high-pressured bakes the cast makes friends, enemies, and everything in between but no one could have plotted what happens to the cute baker from Hawkins, IN and the outlandish and lucky-to-be-there baker from Chicago.
Who will win the grand prize of fifty thousand dollars and whose life will be changed for ever?
