He was kidding himself, of course. He knew exactly what he was longing for and that was something he couldn’t have but thought about quite regularly since he saw The Iceman for the first time back at the O’Club before their training at Top Gun officially began.
In the meantime, Maverick was just trying not to drown in the illusion of not caring about Iceman and the indifference Iceman proudly wore on his face whenever he saw or heard a word from the brunet pilot.
