  1. Summary

How people come together and how they part ways. Of what they accomplish, what they don't and the ways it does or does not matter in the end.

  2. Summary

"There is a sort of fellow-feeling among characters in a tragedy: he who kills is as innocent as he who gets killed: it's all a matter of what part you are playing. Tragedy is restful; and the reason is that hope, that foul, deceitful thing, has no part in it. There isn't any hope. You're trapped. The whole sky has fallen on you, and all you can do about it is to shout"

    Summary

Sandra knocks on his door around midday to remind him that the staff holiday party is at five o’clock, and also that he forgot to RSVP if he was bringing a plus one?

“Hardly,” Elias snorts distractedly, squinting at the last paragraph he wrote; can they really decrease enrollment handling time by eight percent or is he being too bold? “Peter wouldn’t be seen dead at—”

He stops, brow furrowing. A wave of something close to vertigo washes over him, and he grasps the edge of his desk to ground himself.

    “I…ah, no. No plus one.”

    Summary

This place is creepy. His immediate instinct is to turn back around and leave.

And go where? Back to his empty flat? To a bar, to drink himself miserably drunk?

Jon heads deeper inside the taxidermy store. He has to walk slowly, carefully, and still almost pulls a fox to the floor when its fangs snag on his shirt. He’s carefully plucking the fabric free from the teeth when a light, airy, feminine voice says, “My, my, what do we have here?”

    Summary

They sit in the center of a circular room, in a plush-backed chair. There is no dias, no elevation and yet the distance between them and their visitors is countless and void. The glass dome above lets the Eyes peer down onto the scene below.

If either had a name, no one remembers.

A pair of gods rule their kingdom. They amuse themselves with their supplicants troubles and their enemies fears.
