Hizashi knew that Shouta was still working on that beat up 2007 Honda Accord before he saw those deliciously long coverall-clad legs peeking out from underneath the black car.
It was far too late for his husband to still be working—forty-seven minutes past their typical dinner time and at least an hour before the last of the mechanic crew slipped their gloves off and tucked the oiled-soaked material into their toolbox. It was the price Shouta, and their family by extension, paid in order to get some hands-on action while being a joint owner of a sibling-owned body shop: late nights, limited free time on the weekends, and more often than not, missing meals.
Yet, Hizashi couldn’t help the fondness from growing in his chest as Shota tinkered with the car gasket.

The smell of burnt eggs and spices filled Hizashi’s nostrils. Unlike most semi-chaotic mornings in the Yamada-Aizawa household, which were full of sleepy yawns and sugar-hyped ramblings of the latest saga in Eri’s playdate dramas, this morning was loud.
“Are you going to stand there all day or make yourself useful and set the table?” Shouta’s voice interrupted his leering.
“Yeah, Mic, are you?” Shouta’s henchman taunted.Hizashi gritted his teeth and stalked toward the table, the same annoying rush of anger flooded his veins.
Shouta’s stupid little nephew, Sero Hanta, was the biggest nuisance in his life. It was bad enough that he had to see the little shit at school, now the kid thought it was fine to invade more of his life, barge into his safe spaces, and claim his couch and food and husband for himself? Not on his watch.

Summary
Christmas had never been his favorite holiday.
For most people, the freshly fallen snow and presents tied up with shiny red ribbons under a twinkling tree brought a jolly and cozy feeling, but it filled Sero with an inexplicable dread that lingered in every sip of hot chocolate he took and clung to him like an ugly sweater his abuelita would gift him.
He had no real reason to hate the holiday (especially when he thought about Roki’s family history. Yikes!). In fact, at face value, he seemed ungrateful for not liking it.
Yet, every year without fail, Sero counted the days until the holiday season was over so he could tuck his woes away with the daunting Christmas cheer, lay dormant and forgotten with the folded-up tree and dusty ornaments until the next time November rolled around and the whole cycle began again.

Christmas may be a hard time for Sero every year, but this one turns out to be something special.Series

“Fukuzawa-sensei! Mori! We're here to file for a divorce!” Dazai says in lieu of a greeting. His voice is jovial despite the words.
Mori raises an eyebrow in merry amusement. “Is that so?”
“We’re serious, boss.” Chuuya says as he extracts himself from Dazai’s arm that is loosely wrapped around his shoulders. It’s a little dubious. Fukuzawa thinks he looked very comfortable a few seconds ago.
Or: Chuuya and Dazai had to get married for a mission. After it finally concludes, the pair seek out their bosses to put an end to their marital contract.

“And would Chuuya do that to his poor, unsuspecting husband?” Dazai bats his eyelashes, an exaggerated pout on his lips. With his back to him, Dazai knows Chuuya will guess at his annoying antics and—there it is, huffing as if such a thing could translate to a fervent desire to end Dazai’s life; bones and all, dust to dust. He’s cute like that; proficient and skilled even in the arts of deceit, but never with Dazai. Slowly, he lowers his chin to the juncture of Chuuya’s shoulder, staring down at his impeccable handwriting. Lips to the shell of his ear, Dazai murmurs, “plus, I come bearing an offer.”
