“Ambrosius, how long has Nimona been out for?”
Ambrosius glanced down at his watch, and his eyebrows raised. “Almost an hour.” She had said she needed some fresh air. She hadn’t come back yet.
Bal frowned, and sighed. “I should probably go check on her.”
Ambrosius smiled and stood up, putting a hand on his boyfriend’s shoulder. “I’ll check on her.”

Gloreth faltered, lowering her sword slightly. “My parents say you’re a monst— a mo— a monster.”
She flinched at the word, and a tear fell down her face. She looked down at her bloodied hands again, averting her gaze from Gloreth.
“Maybe… maybe they’re right.”
When Nimona destroys the village, Gloreth finds a way to stop her. Without her sword this time.
