Summary
“You’re not getting away that easily!” Haley laughs, a genuine, carefree sound as she snowfights with you. “You’ll have to be quicker than that!”
With a sudden burst of energy, you manage to close the distance between you, grabbing her around the waist and twirling her in the snow. She squeals, half in surprise, half in delight, her arms instinctively wrapping around your shoulders.
“Gotcha,” you say, grinning down at her.
“Okay, okay, you win,” she admits, still laughing. “But only because I let you.”
“Sure, sure,” you reply, your tone teasing but your gaze warm.
For a moment, you both stand there, the world around you falling away. Haley can feel your breath on her face, see the sincere affection in your eyes. Her heart races, and she finds herself thinking, I could start fires with what I feel for her.—
OR, Haley meets the new farmer and, for a year, she writes entries in her diary of all the moments she spend with you, and the growing and hopeless affection she begins to feel for you. When you accidentally find it, discovering her secrets, what will you do?

As you sat by the fireplace, the warmth of the fire cast flickering shadows across the room. Haley traced patterns on the back of your hand with her fingertips, a playful smile dancing on her lips.
"You're just lucky, I suppose.” You chuckled, lifting a hand and cupping her jaw. “Although, I can't say I'm opposed to making it a habit."
“Well, in that case,” Haley breathed out, fingers curling around the front of your shirt. “Maybe we should have blizzards more often."
“Yeah, maybe we should.”—
OR, with the regional photo competition just days away, Haley was on a mission to capture something truly amazing to earn that recognition. Following a winter bunny, she got too deep inside the forest when the blizzard broke out. Luckily, you were there to find her and bring her to the safety of your farm, warming up her body and her fluttering heart.
