Summary
“What flavours do you like?” James asks, pointing towards the ice cream display.
Regulus tries to keep a hold of his smile but he can feel it turning into a grimace.
“I don’t know.” He says truthfully.
There are so many options. Too many.
There’s fruity ones, chocolaty ones, ones with nuts and he can see an oreo one and a snickers too. There’s options for whipped cream and syrups and toppings and his head is spinning.
James gives his side a gentle nudge towards the counter and he takes a robotic step forward. He rips his gaze away from the ice cream and looks right into the expectant smile of the girl behind the counter.
or: Regulus is trying to get a degree, recover from an eating disorder, reconnect with his brother and date said brother's best friend, all at the same time.

“You are not bad,” James murmurs, carding his fingers through Regulus’ hair again as if he’s forgotten about how greasy it is. “You feel bad sometimes, yes, but what doesn’t mean you are bad.”
“I don’t know, James. I don’t know,” Regulus whispers. “Nothing makes sense.”
