Yennefer and Jaskier discuss their feelings after everything that's happened.
It’s not like Jaskier wasn’t used to being ignored. A lifetime of tripping after a larger-than-life muse of a man did tend to turn one into scenery when the most valuable skill-set one possessed was that of a witness. In exchange for stories and fame Jaskier had become used to being something of a shadow where Geralt was concerned.
It was just unfortunate that a shadow could be so easily burnt away.

For now, Jaskier tried to empty his head of his rapidly ever-expanding to-do list, which seemed to populate new tasks on its own every time he turned around. Attendance and grading and calls to missing students and lesson planning and department meetings and leadership meetings and student concerns meetings and office hours, and— it never stopped. Either a new task or a new meeting invitation or just a new missive that needed responding to. His stack of mail, sitting currently abandoned on the side-table by his door, was thicker than the last book he’d read and not so nearly well-organized.

“Can I help?” Jaskier asked, trying not to sound like he was comforting a spooked horse, for all that was how it felt. Geralt didn’t usually get visibly upset. Or, at least not this way, not loudly. Normally an upset Geralt was a quiet Geralt, more prone to delivering cutting remarks born of anger than experiencing— panic? Was he panicking?
The emotion looked strange on Geralt, but there was hardly anything else it could be.
In which Jaskier exhibits some *ahem* whorish proclivities, Geralt exhibits a surprising amount of emotions, and Roach is just trying her damn best. Humor, Angst, Hurt/Comfort, and ~emotions~ inside.

Summary
Witchers don’t have soulmates. That’s been true for as long as Geralt’s been alive, a necessary sacrifice for a life spent on the Path. There’s no place for the attachments that humans define themselves by.
It may not be worth it to Geralt, but love has always been the single most motivating force in the world for Jaskier. Unrequited or not, he’s a bard, and there’s a story to be told. He’ll be the one to tell it.
(Who’s the more tragic figure here? The loved or the unloving?)
Jaskier and Geralt are soulmates, bound by the Red String of Fate. But just because it's written in the stars doesn't mean it's an easy path to tread, and it takes more than a nudge from fate to make a soul-bond work. Between the way Geralt feels about destiny, and the trials and tribulations of the path they have to trudge, it's going to be one hell of an adventure.

When the portal collapses with Jaskier still in it, he’s thrown off course and someplace that looks similar to home, but is just a little to the left of normal. Now, Geralt and Ciri must travel the multiverse to find him, before the monster catches up to them and devours them all.

Summary
