"So," Henry says as Alex's brain makes a valiant effort to reboot because he's staring at Henry fucking Fox, the man he has spent the better part of a decade staring at through a small author's photo. It doesn't even begin to do him justice and he's only now fully realising it, "your daughter is a fan of my work?"
"Huge," Alex chokes out, struggling to not make a fool out of himself. "Dragged me here."
Henry raises an eyebrow, face utterly amused as he says, "Really? Because I could have sworn I just heard her tell Issa that her 'lame dad' forced her to come here."
"Huh,”Alex says, "Kids, am I right?"
Alex's daughter is growing up, a fact he is entirely not okay with.
She's becoming a teenager, thinks he's the most boring, lamest dude alive and wants nothing to do with the traditions they had while she was growing up - especially reading Henry Fox's books.
But when Henry Fox begins a reading programme at their local library, she is sat in the front row. Because she wants to be, not because Alex is forcing her. Not because Alex is slightly in love with a man he's never met, the first person to actually see him.

On the right, closest to where Henry and Pez are seated, is the most beautiful man Henry has ever seen in his life. He’s got a sharp, Fibonacci jawline, wide brown eyes framed by lashes Henry can see from his seat (and could probably see from space if he tried), and, as Henry sees when he rips open his shirt, washboard abs that Henry immediately wants to lick. That is, he would lick, if his entire mouth hadn’t just gone completely dry.
Pez of course clocks Henry’s reaction, his mouth curling widely in the edges of Henry’s vision.

Alex is a stripper, Henry is sheltered and shy, and Pez is the best friend that ever lived. (What else?)

Tall, blonde, and blue-eyed, Henry looks like the all-American boy next door until he opens his mouth and then that sexy-as-sin British accent comes spilling out, all posh vowels and clipped consonants, and Alex would sell his left leg to hear how he sounds in bed.
Of course, he's about twelve feet tall, so he's probably got a dick to match, which means he's woefully not Alex's type.

“Sorry, what?” Henry says, voicing Alex’s stuttering thoughts as well.
