there have been so many fics like this one but i gotta say this one blows them all out of the water. the plot is insanely good and thought out and the back and forth with dicks past and present is so so good. heartbreaking and terrible but ends on a happy note! i was scared for dick almost the entire fic

There was an envelope on the table. It was thick paper, and closed with a golden seal.
Lance picked it up and stared at it. He knew what it was. He had already decided that he wasn’t going. He couldn’t bring himself to. He could barely bring himself to open it.
He tossed it into the trash can.

“The quintessence of a Galra-human hybrid,” Keith’s fangs glinted in a bloody smile. “Doesn’t that just make your mouth water?”
When Keith and Lance are captured by a creature that can drain any being of quintessence, both go to extreme lengths to save the other. This is a story of how you can come from feeling everything, only for it to be taken away.
