“What’s wrong?”
Amy simply sobbed harder.
“ I-I m-messed everything up, and now, he’s gone. We’re supposed to b-be a team, destined for each other, and I blew it,” she wailed, blowing her nose into a leaf.
He resisted the urge to chuckle, knowing all too well that this wouldn’t be their last adventure, and she was being far too hard on herself. All she’d really done was be at the wrong place at the wrong time.
“You’ll see him again. You develop a knack for finding him actually.”
“Really? You from the future of something?” Amy asked, tilting her head curiously.

Summary
Sonic's world is turned upside down as Eggman finally finds a way to get under his skin. Nothing is making sense anymore. How in the world did Egghead get all his old enemies to work together? Why is Amy suddenly the villain? And, did she just imply he was the clingy one? That's it. He was putting an end to this right now.
Can't a guy's life be simple for once? Defeat the Villain. Save the girl. Get rewarded with cake, repeat. She just had to make herself the bad guy. How am I supposed to save the day now, Amy? I-I can't hurt you.

Summary
In her mind, Sonic would always be her hero regardless of what the cards told her.
“I’m not sure you’re ready to hear it.”
She’d probably never be ready to hear it. He started to make a tactical retreat when she roughly pulled him back.
“Oh come on, Shadow, whatever it is, I promise I’ll listen.”
Shadow made the mistake of looking directly at her. She was a sweet bottle of sunshine, and in a moment of weakness, he dared to hope he could keep that sunshine in his life forever.
“Amy, perhaps, the person you’re actually looking for is . . . me.”
