That’s why they’re able to pick up and replenish on illager magic or their summoner’s magic—heck, even enchantments on player armor if they tried really hard.” Grian tries not to think of Scar licking books or worn leather as Scar continues to rationalize his rather odd quirk. “With that in mind, we can theoretically taste other stuff besides typical food, even air for example!”
“And yet, you choose diamonds…” Grian says after finishing a bite of his cookie, surprised he hadn’t lost his appetite yet.
“It’s not that bad though!”
“I’m still fifty percent sure you’re pulling my leg but I’m not the one licking diamonds, now am I?”

Scar rubs his eye for the hundredth time, hoping the horrible sensation would leave him, that the horrible ache was just from pollen or something caught in his eye briefly irritating the retina but as tears wet over the underside of his right eye, he couldn’t help but feel wrong.
