Summary
It's ironic because, in the end, it's not a daring rescue attempt that gets him; he's not held hostage at gunpoint; in fact, it's not even the robber currently negotiating terms with the cops.
There's commotion from the bank, another scream. An ansty trigger-happy bystander standing in the safe zone directly behind them yells, "Alright, that's enough!"
It happens fast, so fast Buck isn't even sure how he caught it. There's a glint, a clicking sound, and then a gun. Buck thinks it's supposed to be aimed at the bank, but the bystander has a wild, crazed look in their eyes, hands shaking. It fires, rings out clear against the steady drone of LA traffic, and he knows.
The bullet is in Eddie's direct path.

Summary
He wants to cry. He wants to scream. He wants to ask Eddie what he remembers but he also doesn’t because he’s selfish and he doesn’t want to be the only one struggling to get over this. It happened months ago. It wasn’t even him that was shot.
“It’s on repeat in my mind every night, Eddie,” he says, without really meaning to.
Eddie nods and squeezes his shoulder.
“I…” Buck takes a shuddering breath, closing his eyes. “I don’t understand how you’re not struggling with this like I am.”
“Who says I’m not struggling, Buck?”
OR
Buck is struggling with nightmares following the shooting. Buck and Eddie finally talk about what happened.

Summary
“You dissociated, Buck. You were completely gone.”
Buck chuckles uncomfortably and shakes his head, “I don’t dissociate, Eddie, people dissociate for a reason Eddie, nothing happened for me to do that. I have no reason.”
“Buck, you can argue with me all you want but I know dissociation, I’ve seen it a lot more than I care to admit, you dissociated.” Eddie emphasizes.
“Let’s just watch something else.” Buck responds, quick to change the subject.
Eddie gives him the same look from last week but nods and pulls Buck under his arm, finding a different film to watch.
He’s fine. Buck’s fine.
Or: Buck is fineeee (except he's not)
