Summary
“Ow!” A voice pipes up from under the lily pad. Gunwook narrows his eyes in suspicion, and he keeps chucking wood chips at the seemingly sentient floating leaf. “Fuck! Shit! Ow—can you please stop doing that?”
The lily pad slips off the hidden offender, and Gunwook sees the briefest flick of a large tail disappear beneath the water. His jaw drops.
“You’re—” A mermaid, is what Gunwook means to say, but what comes out instead is “—very vulgar.”
Gunwook gets lost at sea in the midst of doing his research. Matthew helps him find his way home.

Summary
The story starts the way most bad jokes tend to start. Nine strangers walk into a tavern, leave as kindred spirits, and then go on to save the world.
Hao's never been particularly fond of stories that start this way. It's an introduction that he finds trite, overdone, and rather cliché. Luckily, this is his story, and he can tell it however he wants to. So, this is the way that the legendary bard, Hao the Heartless, would open his tale:
It starts outside a tavern in the middle of nowhere, with the lone mercenary Jiwoong in a nervous stand-off with some kid's pet dragon.
(What follows, of course, you already know. Love, friendship, sacrifice, grief, and the world being saved by a band of chucklefucks, yet again. Your classic adventuring story.)

Then I’d want to take you out to dinner. Do you like sushi? Korean? Indian? I have a list of restaurants in my Notes app that's a byproduct of me and my roommate’s indecisiveness. If you don’t know where to go, all we’d need is my list and a wheel generator.” Gunwook rambles without a moment to pause. He really needs to know when to shut up.

Summary
Hanbin was, for all intents and purposes, exceptionally good at his job.
Hanbin’s entire life rotates around ensuring the absolute satisfaction of his Master. Yes, this included serving drinks, but it also included polishing the silverware, setting up the table for all four meals of the day as well as tidying it away, organising and dressing his Master, managing the lower staff of the manor, tending to every inch of the garden to ensure its quality, overseeing maintenance, appointments, repairs, inventory, administration..
Initially, he’d liked it that way. That was, after all, why he’d taken up the profession, and graduated at the grand age of twenty two. At his very core, he was “people pleaser”.
That was, of course, up until he was hired into the manor of the Zhang family.
