Summary
“You’re doing good, Simon,” Soap says idly, switching out the cotton and disinfectant for bandages.
Ghost grunts, shuffling against the hard floor. “By the time you’re done, our exfil will have had time to stop for drinks.”
He raises an exploratory hand to touch the marred skin, but Soap swats it away. He captures the hand in his own offhand, lacing his fingers with his lieutenant’s and squeezing in apology. After a moment, Ghost squeezes back.
“Round of bourbon on you, tonight?” Ghost asks, a sly smile playing at his full lips. His voice is strained from trying to jostle his injury as little as possible, but the familiarity of his deep teasing tone makes Soap’s head cloudy.
“You propositioning me, Ghost?” Soap asks, incredulous laughter bubbling out of his chest.
Ghost gets injured on a mission, so Soap patches him up.

Charlie smiled at him, eyes half-lidded. Muted noise from the box TV across the room filled the silence as the boy gazed at him. A humid breeze carried through the windows, ruffling Charlie’s already tousled auburn hair. The dim moonlight danced across Charlie’s fingers as he fiddled with the lit joint wedged between them. Jay’s eyes trailed across his face, down his sweater, across his long, tanned legs sprawled out on the sheets in front of him.
“Come here, pretty boy,” Charlie said quietly.

“How many times have we had this conversation?” Logan asks, rubbing a hand over his eyes.
Too fucking many, Wade thinks. The table is cool against his skin, and the fork embedded in his hand throbs with a pulsing heat. He thinks he might just stay here for a while, see how the universe kills him like this. Knowing his luck, someone would walk right up and take Logan’s head off, and then he’d have to watch him die, again.
Wade loves movies that fuck with time – Days of Future Past is genuinely his favourite X-Men film – but God did it fucking suck to live through one.

“It’s irritation,” Logan bites back, trying to twitch his neck out of Deadpool’s grasp.
“There’s nothing wrong with a bit of gentle canoodling, peanut. People like when the meanie goes soft.” Wade turns, and appears to address someone Logan can’t see. “I hear it’s very popular in fanfiction.”
“Who are you talking to?” Logan asks, and Deadpool whips his head back round. Gloved fingers still on Logan’s neck, Wade drags them slowly down his shoulder, down past his arm and over his hip.
“You,” he says seductively, “later, in your dreams.”
